Titania oraqle (not a typo! lol...)

Ok, so I was in a used bookstore the other day and found (and bought!) a Titania Oraqle book , I guess it is kind of a deck because the pages of the book are all given to divining via random bits of advice. I bought it only as a curiosity, and I haven't used it yet. Do others here have it? What is the general concensus on its usefulness as a divining tool?

As I mostly rely on Tarot, I am kind of walking in new territory, so to speak! So I would enjoy hearing your comments. I neither love nor hate the book or the idea, so it isn't personal...I mean, I have barely even glanced through the book...will get to that today

Quoting myself here, because I wanted others to see this. The damn thing is amazingly devised, and is shockingly accurate. I am not sure how it was designed to work as efficiently as it does, still working that out. But how can it be so accurate? In theory, the system should not be accurate because of how it was designed - but the random factor is certainly there. lol! I am loving this - it is a bit more awkward than cards, but an interesting addition to the library!

Do you mean this one http://www.amazon.com/Titanias-Oraql.../dp/087951907X ? I don't have it, but really like her stuff. I know a lot of people don't like her stuff like the lenormand deck, but her stuff has a really unique twist.

Wow - $339 new? That is ridiculous! I bought mine for $7.95 used, in mint condition. ;p even better than the $9.95 "used" offered at Amazon.

Well, it certainly is unique - and I asked it a few questions, where I already knew the outcome, more or less - and it was VERY to the point.

It is a bit awkward to use - chart in front of the book with pre-written questions (you choose the one that most suits your question from a table of 100) then you close your eyes and stab your finger onto a pie wheel with different symbols on it...then depending what symbol you landed on, you check a chart in the back of the book with the symbols and question numbers on it - and then you look up the page number your answer is on.

I had just never heard of it, and was quite curious...I wanted to know what others who had used it thought of it! Now that I have used it, I think it an awesome addition to the divinatory pasteboard menagerie that lives in my house

Well, Vee, I had my doubts about the book-Oracle...but it keeps just freaking me out! So, thanks to you and to Gregory, now I shall have to get the Star tarot and the Fortune Cards! lol! Her system is odd, as Little Hare noted - but damn, it works! ;p What can I say...

Would love to hear more about her Star Tarot and the Fortune cards, now!

I'm guessing this is a tribute to those old Parlor Room Games of the 18th and 19th Century. But hey, I'm not surprised that it works.

You know, NT, you find the oddest things at the right time! Also, very grateful for you to have played the Voice of Fate, and sent me to that store...purely by random chance of me walking in on your post at the right moment! Not sure of the Parlour Room Games, but...if it is like those games, well, sometimes tried and tested is true

She did say she based it off of her grandmother's homemade oracle...the thing that weirds me out, is that the answers are all formulated differently. So, for example, when I asked if my money situation would improve, it answered, "Not right away, but soon".

Since I asked using the randomness of choosing a symbol with my eyes closed, while turning the wheel for added randomness, it kind of freaked me out that the answer should be so worded as to properly answer my question. Because of the huge difference in the answer formula. And here is the thing, I DID know it would improve shortly already...and it answered all 4 of my questions, to which I pretty much knew the answer already, in the same fashion. Very accurately.

Since I have never seen anything like this oracle, it did kind of take me by surprise, the randomness and the accuracy! ;p man. The stuff out there that just works, with no explanation...it blows me away!
