Wink Cards that mean the same or "almost"

Lets post card pairs that mean the same but tell what about each that makes it still different from the other.

The Lovers and the 2 of Cups

Both represent a connection a bondage between two people. I feel that the Lovers is more of a spiritual bondage one that is harder to break and can stand the test of time where as the two of cups can be just a meet and greet card for the day for someone.

Your thoughts?
Now your turn!
Make this fun and intellectual as well!!!

The Hermit and the 8 of Cups, these cards are both saying that a need to get away from problems are needed, the Hermit seeks a time alone to gain solitude and intropection and is seen walking through the darkness, the 8 of Cups to seek a time of walking away in search of something and to start again.

I can see it that way....I feel like the hermit is more peaceful than the 8 of cups. The hermit to me is someone that secluded from all the outside. He meditates and is looking for something within himself. He is able to handle stress because he is at inner peace. His level of thinking is beyond the material aspects of the world. I feel the 8 of cups is more like someone also leaving something of the pass that was built but in the picture on the card he is headed in the moutains. Could the mountains represent him going into a hermit like state or could they represent him leave obstacles just to encounter new obstacles?

Yes i think the figure on the 8 of cups looks very much like the hermit and seems alone on that card, getting away from something from their past is likely, but also they are looking for something new for the future.

How about the hanged man and the 2 of swords. They both have their plan all sorted out but choose not to make a move yet.

I'd have to say The Lovers and 2 of Cups, which would be the most obvious to me too. Neither has anything to do with any kind of bondage for me though. But let's say fo rme, the difference is that the 2 of Cups can be about any kind of love: eg mother child love, the love between 2 friends, sibling or really any kind of love. The Lovers is more romantic love to me.

Which reminds me The Moon for me is all about romance (and nothing else, just romance for me). So there is a connection between The Lovers which is about romantic love for me and The Moon which is about romance in general.

Also The Lovers can actually be about making love and sexuality and so can The Devil at times. But the differece ofr me is that I guess the Devil woudl be more likely to be just about having sex, whiile The Lovers would be move about making love and all that includes that is not included in just having sex.

Oh and The Wheel and the Tower are similar. The Wheel is about things turning out differently than what you had planned. That life sends you something that you have not planned on and that often does not fit into the plans you made as it is a surprise. Pretty well have to throw your planes out and make some new ones to incorporate this thing that comes.

The Tower is also somethign that comes unexpectedly. But The Tower specifies that it happens very quickly almost in the blink of an eye. And once the Tower event happens it changes things forever in the situation And now for me it does not have to be anything negative.

For me The Wheel does not necessescariy have the suddenness of the Tower of the power to change things forever.

Oh, The Fool and The Star. The Fool , for me, is about having a childlike trust in life that things will always work out for the best, total optimism and trust...And even seeing all teh wonders of life clealry. And The Star is also about having hope and faith so there is a strong similarity there.,

That's all that comes to mind right now.

I am thinking The Moon and The High Priestess, yes they have their differances but they both have an element of going within ourselves and into the subconcious, am i right that the high priestess is controlled by the moon aswell??

8 of swords and The Devil....both can represent someone being chained down or bonded to something of negative influence...the devil can represent self bondage to inner demons and sometimes other ppl hence the man in the card with the woman...differences?

Id say with the 8 of swords your bondage is your thoughts and its very much about self sabotage or being unable to see a way out of the situation despite one existing for me here the thing thats keeping you where you are is your mindset rather than anything physical. The Devil is more of a physical thing for me, so more about actual circumstances - a physical addiction, or an entrapment that somehow also brings pleasure in some way for instance (I see no possibility of pleasure in 8 of swords) - the devil for me is when things go too far, the glass of wine with dinner becomes the bottle you cant do with out so you have a physical craving, desire and reaction to the thing that is also negative for you and therefore that physical desire binds you.

One could say that Death and the 10 of Swords have their similarities.
