Good shops for tarot decks in Ottawa?
I'm going to be in Ottawa (Canada) next week, and I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions of places to pick up used tarot decks, or shops that have a good selection of decks new or used. |

Hi Wintergreen! 5 years ago I was in Ottawa and found a really nice esoteric book shop that had a lot of decks. For the last hour I looooooked through my notes and can not find the address. Best to pm Alta, who lives there - and gregory, who also would know.... I wish I could go too..... __________________ .....in the woods - Greenwoods and others.... |

Wintergreen, I also just remembered that there was a Wicca shop just past the bridge on Bank street, up in the Glebe area. Don't know if it exists any longer, I think it was called the Wiccan Reade. The Glebe would also be a great area to look in, for such a shop

I am betting, MiShell, that that was the superlative one Alta used to like, that closed down about a year ago With a beautiful sign outside showing a sun ? A tragedy. But while I would also say PM Alta, I know she is away till the 8th, so you won't get an answer for a couple of days... This one SEEMS to exist: http://www.serendipitybooks-gifts.ca/ I HOPE it isn't the same one; I can't find a decent outside pic - the name could fit the closed one, but when I go for google street view it doesn't

Thanks everyone. I'll check ou the Glebe, and that Serendipity one looks promising. There are actually a few shops in my area (well, within 20-60 kms), but they tend to focus on french language decks that have lots of text on them, plus the standard marseilles, thoth. Lots of Belline and Titania! I'd like to find a second hand store that sells decks. I have a thing for used ones. |

There is a decent selection of new decks at Singing Pebbles on Main St. http://www.singingpebblebooks.ca/ And the same with Crystal Dawn in the Market. http://www.thecrystaldawn.ca/ Not sure of any others except for Chapters. I've mostly been buying online since the awesome Sunnyside Bookstore went out of business. |

I DO hope you see this in time.... Serendipity is nice - but NOT a place for a lot of decks; it is (as the owner says) for people starting out and they only had half a dozen. So don't go all that way just for it ! Alta and I were just there. nickigirl is spot on (we were just at both those as well...) Singing Pebble was the better of the two., but Crystal Dawn is easier to get to.. __________________ ~ ~ I probably shouldn't be here.
