Used Tarot Bags? Cloths Would you buy them?
I noticed a thread on used tarot cards, but how do people feel about used tarot bags? I just bought a batch of them and I will add a pic somehow of the little lot. Would you buy them? also how can you care for them especially if they are velvet? one I have is very strong perfumed/incense luckily it's a light airy smell..! I am not 100% sure how to make the smell go. This is my tarot bag lot http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/w...bs/bundles.jpg |

The only thing I WON'T buy used is panties and bras. I'm not sure how to make the smell go away, you could let it air outside in a covered area? That might make a difference... but it also might not, I'm just guessing. Or throw it in the washer, I do believe velvet can be put into washing machines.. __________________ “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. I would not buy used panties and bras, either, but I have had to borrow a friend's CLEAN underwear on a couple of occasions! Unless they have silvered glass bead decorations you can proably take the entire lot and put them in a pillowcase or net bag and handwash them in COLD water with Ivory soap. Chances are the velvet is polyester or rayon and despite what anyone says - long before there was dry-cleaning everything had to be washed in water. Do not use gentle cycle on a washing machine - too much agitation. If there are glass bead decorations, hot water and soap will remove the silver from inside the beads and the shiny part on sequins. Don't do it! I would just hang them up to air out, myself. __________________ I don't lead the parade - I AM THE PARADE! This is not rocket surgery, ya know! Used tarot bags? I have loads of them and never even wash them. Even if there were a feint smell, I'd put a bar of wrapped soap in for a few days and that'd be fine. Cloth, just lay them out on the table and in a few days the smell would have gone. I'll buy second hand anything except underwear and shoes...Oh and wristwatches coz you can never tell if they're going to keep time until you've had them for about a week. then it's too late. |

Thank you, I cant air them here though we have continual rain. Not sure what to do right now instead. I guess it will wait. Thanks. Hoping the lot I bought are ok? The large swirled one blue/purple is my favourite. |

You can air things out indoors, just might take a little longer due to less fresh air. Hang them by an open window. |

Hi! I'm a knitter, and one thing that I've heard recommended for removing smells from yarn is activated carbon. You can get it at pet stores (and probably your local supercenter type store). Wrap some carbon in cheesecloth and put it in the bag. It should clear up the smell in a couple of days. And I, like others who have posted here, will buy almost anything used. |

Used Tarot bags and cloths are just great. They're expensive to buy new, so the used ones are a bargain, too. __________________ Check out the A. Nonny Mouse Thread! Activated carbon that;s different. I managed to air them and put some soap inside them for half a day. I will try again soon. Thank you1 The seller said they will dig around for me see if they have more! (I'm so going to buy them!) They have some nice bags and the pic dont do them justice at all the colours are much more vibrant and the materials are really sumptuous and detailed. They are all lined with silk apart form the crochet one1 yet it has lovely glass beading on it. Must have lo scarabeo tags inside or Bali labels Thank you all I will continue to buy used items. YES those cloths are so expensive, I am in thrift stores recently and found many but, I am fussy lol! I know what colours I want so I keep bypassing them. Whereas y mum would go that's good enough get that one. I certainly want a green one. NO maybe blue or pink. Oh dear me! My main thing is I really want a purple cloth and go from there. |
