I agree, and I do have faith that this will happen. I wasn't trying to influence the cards in any way or impose my will, but I was trying to affirm something in my own mind that would signify (to me) a yes or no response with just one card.

Hehe, I love jumpers. I'm a careful shuffler so ALWAYS take note of the jumpers.

Yes, even when it was something I didn't want to see. For example, I may have thought to myself whilst shuffling... "if that pesky Page Swords comes in I'll know for sure why my ears are burning..." etc.

Thanks so much for your replies : ) I try so hard to stay away from yes/no questions but sometimes there's no other way to word a question. Thanks for sharing your method. I've asked the Universe for specific signs concerning a question and will only ask for a "yes" sign as knowing if I don't receive it then the answer is no.

I wanted to know the outcome of something... basically Yes or No.

So I asked: what will be the answer from them tomorrow?

As I shuffled I flipped a few cards over in my head... thinking if I see one of these the answer will be Yes.

So I started flipping through them in my mind...

The Sun, 6 Wands, 4 Wands, 2 Cups, 3 Cups, 9 Cups, 10 Cups, 9 pentacles. Any one of these babies.

I'm sure some clever person can tell me the odds.

So you can imagine my reaction when I drew The Sun... my first choice! Pretty good I thought. Fluke? I'll let you know tomorrow.

Does anyone else do this... think of a card or number of cards then if they see that card or cards in the spread then it confirms the reading? I do this quite a lot and sometimes Tarot really does amaze me by turning up the cards I was thinking of.

I wonder how this works though? Especially during the shuffling process as you think those thoughts. What is going on for your shuffle to answer your mind in such a private and unique way?

I DO use this technique sometimes, and YES, the card I was thinking of and associated with "YES" did come out when I made my pick...I was in shock...I really like this technique ... I really feel that when the card you are thinking of DOES come up, pop out, or get picked, that it isn't just by coincidence!!

Ahhh, thank you for this! I agree. This does come as a bit of a shock. I find it works for me but have never tried to over-use it. I just use it occasionally when only a yes or no will do.

It works well, and I'm the same way you are...I NEVER over use it...only when I feel it's extremely important!! (And, just so you know...I was singing "The Sun Will Come Out" in my car today on my ride home...HA (Drove my son crazy!!!!))
