There is Tarot for a New Generation by Janinia Renee. It was written a while ago, and it is geared towards teens but I think it can be used by adults also. It is not the most spiritual book but it is nice for a beginner. It doesn't cover every area for each card, but pulls out and puts headings over different areas. For example, for the Three of Wands, the areas highlighted would be Business, Communication, Creative Expression, Planning, Relationships and Work and Study. Under the Three of Wands, it would be Celebration, House and Home, Self-Esteem, and Success. It is also Rider-Waite-Smith based.

There's a couple threads about it and her other book Tarot: Your Everyday Guide which I don't have but hear it is similar but more advice oriented rather than divination like Tarot for a New Generation.

Try Tarot Plain and Simple by Anthony Louis - it might be worthwhile looking into.

I agree with Sulis; I have this and it really is good - and an added bonus is that the author is here and answers questions He really is helpful.

Given that it's on amazon, you could get it mailed to India.

I REALLY dislike Nancy Garen's book, I have to say. Just my 2 cents.

The Ultimate Guide to Tarot Card Meanings

Hello!

I'm so glad to see my eBook, The Ultimate Guide to Tarot Card Meanings, has got a mention!

It really is a very comprehensive ebook and it has been getting some fantastic reviews (check out the latest at http://www.thetarotlady.com/the-deck...card-meanings/).

I have included detailed interpretations of each card for different situations. Not just a couple of lines or keywords, but in-depth interpretations which make reading the Tarot cards super easy.

And you're right, you do need to come up with your own interpretations with practice, but this eBook certainly gives you a kick-start.

You'll find it right here: http://www.biddytarot.com/tarot-guid...card-meanings/

Thanks, Brigit (owner of Biddy Tarot)

Biddy:

Because of this thread I just ordered your books and I am in the process of printing them (I also ordered the Companion). I really love the way you present the card meanings and the possible combinations. I am not new to Tarot and I have near 100 books about the subject, and sincerely your work is in my humble opinion one of the best in the market to help interpreting any type of reading. Thanks for putting the energy and the effort to produce such great work. Congratulations and the best of the lucks to you!

Blessings,

Zelmira
