Sodalite dream

My sister in law gifted me a sodalite necklace that I started wearing seriously (open minded) and daily about six months ago. It saw me through the resolution of a health crises I have been having for a few years. Turns out I have blood sugar issues. For the last month or two I have been using the the sodlite necklace as a pendulum over my food to great success. There has been much healing in these past months. I've begun to feel I am developing a relationship with my body.

This week I had a dream that my sodalite cracked. Could be it's time to move onto a different stone. Carnelian appeals to me. But I am not sure I am ready to give up the sodalite. Its been such a good focus for me. But this resistance has me feeling I may have gotten a little dependant.

Any thoughts?

AW

Congratulations on your progress, AW!

Do you periodically "cleanse" your Sodalite? Many, many users of crystals/stones will preach the value of cleansing them after use, with the idea being that they can take on energy (some of it not the greatest energy, either) and eventually sort of clog up, just like a filter will do over time. Cleansing practices can remove that energy, cleaning out the stone, and restoring it (there's also the idea that it's good to go one step beyond that by actively recharging stones after cleansing, too). Your dream could be interpreted as the Sodalite itself telling you that if you haven't cleansed it, or haven't done so in quite a while...it's time!

And like you said, it could also be a sign that you're growing/evolving, and need to either move on to a new stone, or at least work a new one into the rotation (I don't see why you'd need to totally get rid of the Sodalite, though...?). Carnelian is a big energy stone, and pretty different from Sodalite, so maybe it would be worth getting a piece that appeals to you and then giving it a try to see how it treats you. Also, interesting note, given the first paragraph up above: Carnelian is often said to be one of the stones that never needs recharging, and which will, in fact, recharge other stones just by sitting with them for a while...

I like what frac_ture has written and can only add the more you work with different crystals it just "feels" like it's time to move on to something else.

The fact you're thinking about carnelian could also be a sign it's time to try something new.

i agree with frac_ture and DownwardSpiral. when crystals/stones crack it's thought that they've been over-exerted and need to be cleaned and probably be allowed to rest a bit. That you've been feeling a pull towards carnelian could mean that you're needing a different type of crystal/stone energetic support. and just because you may move on to carnelian or any other stone, doesn't mean you need to give up your sodalite. i have quite a variety of different stones that i've used over the years. in fact, i still have the very first clear quartz point that i got 25+ years ago

Thanks frac-ture. I wore it during ritual and cleansing, mostly a shower before LBRP. But I haven't done anything to the stone beside that. Interesting that I was away from home and practice when I had the dream though.

Thanks. I had already bought the Carnelian so I will wear them together for a while and see how that feels.

Yes I was surprised I didn't have that feeling. I didn't start looking for something new until I had the dream though. But I suspect the dream was a little nudge. I did get the Carnelian set in a ring though. And I hardly ever wear rings but couldn't resist this one. So I will be able to wear them together for a more gentle transition.

Thanks.

This makes total sense. I do have tendency to try too hard and over focus. Maybe it is time to lighten up a little.

I learned with herbs to use simples. One at a time, so I understood what was going on. So I was a little reluctant to mix the stones. But I think it is time to give it a try.

Thanks for your support, everyone.
