Traditional Morinus Lots Updating your list

In response to a question from Kalliope in the Morinus thread and with her help and some information from Rob Hades-Pluto (author of Morinus) I've tested a means of getting the Lots I used in the Lots thread and in the Horary threads directly to Moriuns users through the forum.

Note

To make use of this file you must be using Traditional Morinus v5.9 or later. If you are using an earlier version, it will not work, so you should upgrade to the latest version here:

Download MorinusWin.zip (link at bottom of page) and extract it to a folder on your PC

Adding the Lots

Dowload the attached file almutentopicalandlots.txt and save it on your PC.

Next go to the file and change the extension from .txt to .opt Do not alter the fle name in any other way.

Now copy the file into the Opts folder in Morinus, if you are told the file already exists and do you want to replace it with the new one, click Yes. You should now find that when you open Morinus and go to the Lots under Options, you will find there are 19 Lots listed. You can of course add any more that you wish.

FYI, for anyone running Morinus on a Mac (by using Crossover or Wineskin), when you change the file extension from .txt to .opt, do it by going to the Get Info screen for the file (Command-I), not just by editing the file name in the Finder. When I did the latter, it secretly had kept the .txt extension (my file ended with .opt.txt) so it didn't work. Once I looked in the Get Info screen, I edited it properly and it worked just fine. And for the record, I'm still using Crossover to run Morinus, and it works perfectly. The Morinus website claims that Wineskin will do the same, and that one is free so it's worth a try!

If there are any problems with this, then I'll do my best to answer them. Once you've got your Lots file working, if you upgrade to a later version, remember to copy this file to the latest version - or indeed copy the Opts directory, as it will ensure that you don't have to set Morinus up all over again.
