The Sword of Truth Reading

Hi there,

Just performed this reading about my ex and myself after a long night of talking. We came to the conclusion that we need space to grow and mature seperately as young adults and that we would like to hopefully try oneday in the future, if things are favorable (single, interested etc), to be a couple again.

This reading was mainly done so I can see the change in energy and direction after our talk, versus previous readings before the communication.

1. Other's view of the relationship: Four of wands (Encouragement)
He feels as though there's a chance for us to be together again and this is a time of preparing for him. Part of our agreement was that we needed to work on ourselves individually, so I see this card as him acknowledging that. Also the oracle card speaks clearly of him seeing this as an encouraging sign between us.



2. Other's behavior in the relationship: King of Swords RX (Sad Embrace)
See, the King of Swords to me is a very intellectual and somber type of man who is incontrol of himself (thoughts and words) at all times in order to 'rule' peacefully over his kingdom.

With this reversed, I've seen meanings from others as being manipulative, cruel, hasty etc. Those are things I will definitely take into consideration, but in my reading I saw the King as not being cruel but actually not in control of himself and his environment. Not being able to talk himself out of or command others and so he accepts defeat. Because of that, I think the Sad Embrace oracle card is fitting as it has to deal with finally accepting and saying goodbye.



3. The glue or base of the relationship: The Empress (Goblins)
I know the empress is all that is feminine, nuturing, sexual etc... but I feel like there is a deeper meaning to her, as to why we gravatate towards each other, that I'm not catching. Maybe it was because of his upbringing as he dealt with abuse that resulted in him feeling alone and uncared for for years, and I'm the type of person who naturally cares for others a little more then I do myself.

The goblins card speaks of the "shadows of one's own self, or someone else's that lead you into reactive situations, it is a signal that you must love yourself."


4. Querent's view of the relationship: The Four of swords (Into the Unknown)
This is my view of the relationship and I see it as a moment of rest, perhaps even waiting. Though, like the man in my tarot card, I'm waiting to see what feels right or what new message comes to me. I don't want to make a wrong decision and so I've pulled back from the situation. I find the 'Into the Unknown' oracle to be exactly how I feel.



5. Querent's behavior in the relationship: The world (Education)
I told myself that during this time of limbo for us, and beyond, I want to travel. I want to start new hobbies, meet new friends, take a class at the local center etc... I feel like this is the way I'm going to learn about myself. I don't want to date other guys at the moment, honestly I don't know if I even want to date my ex again, but I do know that I have a list of things I want to accomplish and now is the perfect time to begin them.



6. The foundation/state of the relationship: Knight of Pentacles (Magic Prayer)
I see this as being at a very young learning period. We have a sort of destination in mind but we both plan to walk seperate ways to possibly get there. It's going to be hard work but it's not impossible. To me, the Magic Prayer card speaks of our wanting to find a way to possibly make things work for the both of us, and that we see this oppurtunity as maybe being our prayers answered.



7. What has contributed to the current state of the relationship (or how did the two people fail to see the truth?): Seven of swords (Coming to Life)
Seven of swords talks about lieing and stealing of time, to me. In the beginning he lied about many things which came to light. At first willingly by him and then after as a result. Coming to life is just reflecting the truth coming to the surface, trust became a very big issue for us that i felt like I had to leave.


8. Advice - What must be done to bring the truth to light?: King of Wands (Rock Bottom)
I can't read the King of Wands for some reason, but the oracle card Rock Bottom speaks to me of needing to honor our set agreement and walk away. I can't put my life on hold and I can't change the situation. From here the only way is up and I have to go on with my life and believe that if it's suppose to happen then it will, if not, then oh well. But I'll learn nothing if I sit around and hope.


9. Possible/probable outcome: The Chariot (Coming Together)
This is just a probable outcome of what might happen if decisions and such remain the same until the future (we set no dates). When I read the Chariot alone, I saw it as a sign of us moving on completely from each other, but the oracle card makes me see it in the light of moving towards each other, possibly.


I acknowledge and understand the fact that we are both young (early twenties), and that the best thing we can do for ourselves and each other is go out and learn what type of man/woman we want to be. We both haven't had many serious relationships, or having to deal with the Long Distance aspect of it like we currently are. But there's never anything wrong with learning and becoming a better person, whether in or out of a relationship. So this reading makes me happy, but I would love to hear anyone else's general advice, opinions, perspective.
