The 'Shabby Chicness Lenormand' deck...is finished and available...

Just finished the 26. The BOOK card...

which one? or neither? ...i can keep going if you don't like these two...

Version 1 is so totally different than any other lennie deck, but it is shabby chic!

Also, i am now thinking that version 2 might be confused with the letter card?
i could remove all the post cards in it and maybe put it on a lace table cloth?

You should be there in my house, in the morning as I turn on my laptop...exited as a kid on Christmas morn, hoping to see the Shabby Chic email notification...with your name on it!and then, it is there!!! And I can't wait to see if there is another pic...My daughter has a kick out of it each time , to see her Mom looking like a kid!

Anyhow, 1st version is nice but that doesn't do it for me...

2nd Version was a "WOW" one! I love it with the old books stacked up and the candles...

But, I would remove the letters/cards so it doesn't bring up the "Letter Card" into the "Book card" And yes, please, do put it on a lace table cloth!

Also, you might want to give a thought to a piece of info I found on a French site...The meaning of the Book Card implies "secret knowledge", "diaries" meaning "the real old fashion diaries" like the one I had when I was a teen, those with a lock! You see that also in movies, with famous wizard secret knowledge found in a lock book/diary...

Therefore, if it is not too much trouble and if you happen to find for the top book a replacement with the pic of an "antique looking locked diary"; that would be wonderful....

Definitely version 2!!! Beautiful! Although, i do agree with Lady Z about removing the letters; and a lace tablecloth would be a nice touch. Because of the color palette involved here,[if you do decide to have a lace cloth] i would go for an ecru colored lace. [rather than white] If you don't add a diary; an old fashioned looking skeleton type bronze/key added would do the trick also.

Lovely, Lady Z! i think it would need a key shown with it, though. Because it is an antique book and not really one of those lock/key type diaries.

A key with books most always symbolizes [for me at least] the key to secret or hidden wisdom.

Yep, I didn't find the "diary type" that was as gorgeous as that book...But I wonder also if showing the key would not create a problem as the Oracle has a also the "Key Card"??? that might bring the "Key Card" into the "Book card"....

But I the pic of the key you gave and I do hope Lyn is going to have that type of key for her "Key Card"!

You are right, Lady Z! i totally forgot about the "Key Card"...Maybe a magnifying glass instead of a key?

It certainly is similar for me when i get up in the morning (after having posted a card
the night before)...i am excited to see what you all say...sometimes it is good and easy and sometimes
it is about making changes for the day... BUT...it always makes the deck BETTER because of all of you!

i do see what you are saying about the 'secret' knowledge of the Book card...i 'always' think
of it that way as well...or of something 'hidden'...i will see what i can do to fix this card...
Yes, the letters have to go...which i can easily do...and then to find a table or lace cloth for it...and a 'locked' diary on top maybe...

Sis, version 3 will be in with the changes you mentioned and i will check out the
ecru colored lace as well. i love the key image you found ...that is a nice one and if i don't
end up using it in this deck. i will use it for one of the versions as i will have more than one
key version to choose from

Sorry to disappoint you, LadyZelda, but dreamstime.com is a membership site and i joined it
but found toooooo many restrictions on the use of their photo Its crazy!!! PLUS, many of
their photos they charge for are actually free in the public domain You just have
to know how to find 'buried' public domain images...they are there...i could write a text book on this stuff LOL
Don't worry, i will find something you like...i think...i hope. We will see...

...i really want the book to stand out...i have another one i adore, but like the ring case...not sure
