yeah, if you buy Alexandrite, make sure it is the real deal...and not two tone glass ;p you will have to pay a lot of money for the actual true natural Alexandrite, but I have some that is lab-made and grown from the DNA of the motherstone using the Czoralchosky method (I think I spelt that right! lol!) developped in the late 1800's. My stones ring very true, and they vibrate at a high level - I took them to a crystal healer and she was all over them! lol! So I truly believe the "lab-grown" hasn't removed any vibration/resonance from them. They have to be really well cleansed and re-energised before first use, though...

I did a study on it, you can see it in this forum - I think it is on page two. I had some *awesome* crown chakra mediations with it! Literally being showered in golden sun, and lifted by hands it was amazing!

I forgot to reply to this back when you first posted it, wildchilde, for which I heartily apologize!! Thanks for the encouraging words! I'm definitely enjoying working with Reiki, and I'm getting a lot out of experimenting with incorporating other things into the practice. Crystals are a huge part of that, as is color, and also sound. I think they all work well together, actually...

Regarding combining crystals and sound specifically, I find that placing crystals in one of my singing bowls and giving them a good "sound bath" leaves them feeling as "clean" as they would if I'd run them through the smoke from some sage or some sandalwood incense. I also have begun to feel that if I leave a crystal in the bowl and then get the bowl singing, something of that particular crystal's basic nature will inform the soundwaves (of course, this only works with crystals that are small enough to sit in the bowl without interfering with its ability to vibrate)...

And then my Reiki teacher will even "ping" one of her smaller tuning forks against a big quartz crystal she has, and then place the end of the fork on someone, like on a pressure point or a chakra center -- it's a pretty neat effect, and I think there's something to be said for combining the inherent vibe/vibration of a specific crystal with the ability of the tuning fork to carry it and amplify it. I haven't really tinkered with that on my own, although I do have a tuning fork now...I find myself uneasy somehow about bashing a crystal with the fork, even though the crystals can most likely stand up to anything I might dish out there!
