I've been using reversals since I started learning Tarot. I still use reversals with all my decks. Having said that, the "reversed" meanings are inherent in the card, as too, the upright meaning is present in a reversed card. It is simply a tool which, along with other factors, can help me determine how to interpret the card. TarotBear said it very well; "Remember - a reading is all about 'interpretation' - not rigid rules about what goes where and 'this means only that.'" In the case of The Magician, the interpretation you came up with sounds very intuitive. You've learned the basic meanings well, but now your intuition is leading you and showing you how to interpret the cards based on the question and surrounding cards. The Magician has both the worker of magic as well as the used-car salesman in it. Go with your intuition. __________________ "A famous person once said; 'you can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time' ... but, as I (an even more famous person) say; 'if you don't teach them to read, you can fool them whenever you like!'" Oh, those Scorpio men, they are true hell. I'm trying to get over one, too, and the Magician comes up with him a lot, too. He also stroke me as two-faced, manipulative and you never knew what the heck was going on with him. They are unbelievably mysterious and charismatic, which makes it so very hard to stay strong and do what's best for you. I feel with you
