Hi Cerulean! Thanks so much for starting our thread! sorry to keep you waiting...I just logged back in tonight. I am really looking forward to working with you on this. I will be thinking about the objective of our study and any question(s) I may have tonight and will post tomorrow. I am a Leo (hey hey, it's almost my birthday)...the main birthstone for Leo is Peridot although I admit I have never been that attracted to it. According to some sources I have found Onyx, Diamond, Carnelian, Sardonyx and Ruby also correspond to my sun sign. I have lots of different stones (and getting more all the time ). I usually am most attracted to the rough stones, however, I am now making gemstone jewelry so I am getting excited about cut and polished pieces too. I am amassing quite the collection of stones for both jewelry making and for healing work since I am a Reiki Master/teacher and am hoping to learn about crystals to help others and myself heal. The jewelry I am working on is for both metaphysical purposes and aesthetics value. My favorite crystals are Amethyst, Citrine, Aventurine, Tourmaline, and pretty much any other stone especially if it is purple, blue, pink, or green, and sometimes red, yellow, or orange. LOL (eta) or white, black, smokey, or clear ROFL __________________ ~wildchilde "It is a mathematical fact that the casting of this pebble from my hand alters the center of gravity of the universe." -Thomas Carlyle Last edited by wildchilde; 07-08-2012 at 16:19. |

okay, Cerulean, I have been ruminating on what question I would like an answer to from the crystals...a couple of things have passed my mind but I think I will settle on this one (at least for now). It may take a bit to explain so I hope you don't mind... I would like a crystal to work with that will help me deal with anger concerning feeling disrespected and "minimized" by people around me. Specifically family members like my MIL, two SILs, and one of my formerly closest friends whom I considered for 20 years to be my "sister" (I still consider her my sister, but by her choice she is no longer my friend). Each of these people over the past couple of years has treated me horribly and basically treat me as though I have no right to have my own space, my own feelings, or be treated with any respect, even in my own home. I am a very happy and understanding person (most of the time) and I don't like confrontation, so usually I just end up "swallowing" my feelings and going on like nothing has hurt or bothered me. However, the longer this goes on, the more I see that I get quick to anger around them and I just don't even want to be in their presence. Then of course that makes me feel bad because they're family I tend to "blame" myself a lot, especially in the beginning of all this, feeling like if I could just "be" different or try harder to get along that things would be okay. But it wasn't until I started getting angry and "pushing back" that anything changed...however, I don't want to be an angry person or have to be hateful to people to get what I need out of my relationships or my environment (which I think is what they are doing to me). I don't know if this is making sense. I just want to not get angry because someone else comes into my space angry or with some kind of chip on their shoulder because to me that is giving my "power" to them by letting them control how I feel. So far the crystals that have helped me the most with this issue have been: Tourmaline Howlite Prehnite (to some degree) and I am going to start working with Rhodonite now specifically regarding my former friend because I really want to let go of the hurt, confusion, and anger I feel over how she ended our close and lengthy friendship as doing that may help me heal my other relationship issues and possibly also the physical problem I am having with my back/hip. If you have any questions please let me know. I am curious what you may find that would be helpful. Thanks! __________________ ~wildchilde "It is a mathematical fact that the casting of this pebble from my hand alters the center of gravity of the universe." -Thomas Carlyle |

On the tourmaline and rhodonite and your question
1. Tourmaline I know about watermelon tourmaline in jade greens, from mossy dark green to lighter and softer spring greens and a very pretty range of soft pinks. The varying greens I could see very light and almost spiritually akin to lighter blues and can help with both the throat chakra in a light way and the rose colors, yes I can see how it would softly assist with the base chakra and yet address this very softly. If you have this in small and smooth beads, the feel would be lovely and the variation in colors would be a pleasing mix. 2. Rhodonite You mentioned rhodonite, which I believe can also be faceted and streaked with white, so it has a very rosy coloration. Also the undertone of a kind of violet blue makes it feel like a deep, beautiful rose with a spiritual blend. Since you suggested two interesting stones that I know a bit about, I will actually figure out other stones whose colors or shapes or association with your birth month/preferences seem to work in harmony or may help draw out some balancing characteristics. I would like to use the tourmaline and rhodonite as the two stones you already suggested. Here's a website that is interesting and arranged by symptoms: http://roughandtumbledcrystalcreatio...ference.html#t I will get a question ready and will post it next. Catch you soon. Cerulean Quote:

Need calm strength and softness this month
How do I balance and continue to sustain good balance this month? I am keeping on my health/fitness goals and balances after work and on weekends...although we have been generally successful each week this busy month in trying to adjust time together and our chores and seeing friends/family.. my husband's work for needed overtime and our house contracter can sometimes leave me impatient as I am trying to balance reason, energy, and thrifty cleanouts/chores with heart and soul. Physically and spiritually, I am becoming more attuned to these stones this month-- I am curious if you see resonances in what I am trying to do and these stones: Jade -- the deep and light greens for spiritual attumement and also my communication to reflect truth, but also sensitivity and sincerity. Translucent and round beads Lapis -- recognizing the higher truths and calm, but also reflective of depths. Heart shape and square cut, with glints of yellow. Garnet -- grounding, yet physically sustaining. Also, lovely ruby depths. Round bead shape Peridot/topaz - sparkling, faceted, yellow-white to reflect sunlight and yang energy, bright season. To help me to remember to be lighter and brighter. In any case, feel free to suggest your own associations with these stones or alternates for my goals...and feel free to pm me if you have questions. I may be slightly vague about my health/less stressing alternative goals in this forum right now, but thought this above suggested gemstones that I had been beginning to work with this month might assist... Catch you later. Hope my question/gemstone list made sense. Cerulean __________________ Still, cerulean surges... where, as sunset lingers Eve with golden fingers... Hector A. okay, Cerulean, great question and it looks as though you already have a good handle on crystals to work with! I will give these things some consideration and come back to post on it tomorrow when my head is a bit clearer (feeling pretty sleepy right now). Meanwhile, just reporting in that the first full day of wearing the rhodonite brought very quick results...first off, my MIL pulled something this morning that normally would have really angered me (esp. since I hadn't even had a cup of coffee yet! LOL) but I took it in stride and everything worked out fine. Then just a few hours later my SIL called me to discuss some things and she actually said thank you to me for something and that really surprised me. Long story short, I think I am beginning to understand on an emotional level (not just mental) that the push and pull I often get into with my in-laws is about their relationships to each other and I just happen to get caught in the middle. I thought the rhodonite was going to be useful for dealing with the end of my friendship, and perhaps it still will...I didn't think about that at all today even though normally at this time of year I would be spending vacation time with her. As an aside, I don't know if it is related to the rhodonite or not but I was also very productive with the jewelry making tonight. __________________ ~wildchilde "It is a mathematical fact that the casting of this pebble from my hand alters the center of gravity of the universe." -Thomas Carlyle |

That is very encouraging
Your heartfelt glow is lovely to the rosy depths, which gently reflects n inner fire of your heart. But allowing your family in law / cooling insight and a way to not be engulfed in their flames, you might find a yin-like, cooling and water element that nourishes and keeps your depths clear and replenished. You have much fire and so I wonder if earth or water works better for your perspectives in the long view. I am still in thinking modes the next few days. __________________ Still, cerulean surges... where, as sunset lingers Eve with golden fingers... Hector A. meanwhile here is a pic of the necklace...I can't seem to get a shot that actually represents how sparkly and calming it is though and also a pic of the rhodonite pendant I wrapped to wear.(eta: misspelling of crystal name) __________________ ~wildchilde "It is a mathematical fact that the casting of this pebble from my hand alters the center of gravity of the universe." -Thomas Carlyle Last edited by wildchilde; 12-08-2012 at 06:45. |

The jade and peridot work at the heart chakra level, the lapis works at the 3rd eye (intuition) level but with the heart shaped cut perhaps it is also working to connect your heart's desires to your manifestation (thoughts)...which isn't bad as long as you are thinking about being IN balance and not out of balance as you may be creating a self-fulfilling prophecy with the latter. The ruby is probably best suited for your current issue, as it works at the base chakra as well as the heart chakra. however, I am a bit concerned that it may be over-powering you in the sense that is stirs up great passion (for people and projects) so it may be that it is unleashing more and more things for you to do and to deal with by its nature. I like the website you posted. I just stumbled across this one and love the information and the layout of the gemstone section. You may find it useful as well. I found my blie topaz bracelet and ring and a rather pretty green blue stone.
And will report later. We are definitely exploring a range, both of us. __________________ Still, cerulean surges... where, as sunset lingers Eve with golden fingers... Hector A. Stuart South Sea Dreamer, 1886 |
