Temperance and Hangman
how would one read this combo in regards to what someone is worried about and focused on? to me it looks like the person is trying to mix, blend, time it right, trying to get it right, having patience to get two opposites to meld, to make a whole new third something. yet perhaps they see it from a whole new perspective that they are the one doing all the sacrificing. this is how i see it. not sure. any help here would be so appreciated! thank you, any and all! |

In the standard (TdM) order of cards these two come either side of death; in one respect as representing infamy or fame, one's good name or bad name as a spur to doing 'the right thing'; a concern with one's reputation -- what other's think of you and how they will remember you (or not). __________________ "I am a diviner, but a poor one." |

kwaw: wow, that make alot of sense to me with these two cards! i was seeing it as trying to mix two opposites that may not be able to blend, and the hangman as sacrificing himself in the process. in a way i think we are on the same page here. because one would sacrifice himself for the good of other's, (hangman) YES, because of a concern with one's reputation, and how others would remember them, or not. the good name of the person as a reason to spur them on to, *do the right thing.* thanks for bringing to my attention the fact that these two cards come between death. *infamy or fame,* thing here. great insight! thank you! |

Temperance must be taken as a sign to start fixing things before it gets too far out of balance and it is irrevocably destroyed. Hangman: To admit that you are afraid will give you the strength to conquer your fear. You relinquish your desire for control. Although the Hangman will sit back until someone else makes the first move. This person knows that something needs to be fixed but is afraid to make the first move to resolved it. |

pamuya: i never would have read this combo like that, at all. very, very, interesting take on these cards. they know something needs to be fixed, but afraid to make the first move to resolve it. makes sense; especially with the hangman waiting for another to make the first move. thanks, pamuya, you added so much more to this for me. jotting this one down, too, and pondering it. i do like it, though! |

Temperance and Hangman
Temperance: Balance (of emotions b/c of the two cups), synthesis, patience + The Hanged Man: new perspective after a period of withdrawal = A balanced & synthesized new perspective (about something or someone) |

Together, tehy speak to me of inner peace, calmness, an ability to deal with everything without losing equinamity. Sometimes cards come up to express what people need to develop in their lives, not what is already there in their nature. __________________ Life is a holy moment, a brief flash of sentience in the sacred abyss. |
