Good morning ![]() (((((to all in pain)))))) Chiska, what a great surprise w/ the insurance and hugs to Monster Dog as well who probably was mellow? I got up a 6am and thought that a walk w/ Brigid would be great; but, then I remembered the resident cougar and bears which might still be wandering around. I went to bed again - did me good. Sis left an SMS that she is packing for a trip of 9 days o the Alps. Off now to breakfast w/ some nice spiced Gouda. I had already my quota on eggs. I miss my gf very much; we often went for breakfast or she made some at home where we were sitting on her deck chatting away. __________________ Wer im Regen nicht mit mir tanzt, wird im Sturm nie bei mir sein.... Smell of dinner driving me nuts. It's late cos I forgot to put it in the oven!! Drumming sounds good. I do mine on a Sunday when the house is empty ![]() Think the pub will evaporate while I'm off eating and finishing the crossword, so I'll have to come looking for you I expect. |

Muzzles don't hurt him. Sometimes wearing it allows him to know he isn't going to bite, so he won't try. HOnestly there are tons that don't even struggle with us once its on.

Well, I've an hour left of work. Mostly warming the seat. Phone not really ringing. One or two people have come for food or meds. 3 appointments were taken care of in that first hour. 2 for anal gland expression and one toe nail trim. I brought a change of clothes. Planning on sushi for lunch since we didn't get to have any while we wer away. And then we will try to do a mini birthday, part two. He didn't remember it was his day and i didn't remember til we were on the plane. Didn't get to the hotel til 9pm so we thought it best to say nothing. Next day it was afternoon when we got home, but we were all so tired that I wasn't up for anything. That means today's the day! __________________ What happens in the Trade Train Cafe stays in the Trade Train Cafe! `````````enjoying the exploration - savoring the journey````````` ````````````````Collecting - Gazing - Shuffling```````````````` |

The visit went fairly well. We took him right to the "secluded" part of the waited room and kept him distracted by looking into the little yard there. It didn't take the usual 15-20 minutes for the vet to even be able to touch him. In fact, she came in to check on him and to tell the tech to not do his temp. She was able to examine him within 10 minutes of getting into the room (a world record!) and he was quite happy to take treats from the tech. He is VERY gentle about treats. For blood and injections, the doctor reminded the tech to NOT take him to the back. When the other tech came in with "The Stuff" he knew it was time and he kept him self pinned to me and them clearly in view. One of them tried to go behind him and he showed all of his beautiful teeth (vet said healthy normal for 6 year old dog). I asked for the Pink Muzzle. Put it on him and hubby held a tub of peanut butter just within tongue stretch and they were able to blood draws and I almost got a lepto booster So, he was great! They love him because he is visibly frightened, but not aggressive. He is all lovey after the muzzle comes off and the tech brought him a special treat and a bowl of water. The bill.. $292. *sigh* thank goodness for credit cards. (that is 6 months trifexis, one office visit, fecal exam, hw test, and lepto booster). One dog down....one to go! Her visit is in November. |

Because he has a VERY long memory. He had his anal glands done on his 2 year old visit to the vet. On his 3 year old visit, he wouldn't take his butt out of the corner. He was QUITE anxious about that. It was the last year he would go to the back for blood/injections. He might have had a bad experience. On 4 year old visit, he was quite unhappy about the needles and the tech that is not there anymore was there and he did NOT like her. (she was the one who did the stuff the year before.) This was his 5 year old visit. I think the one tech hurt him or was rough. She was a bit rough with him when I was in the room for last year and I told her to back off. I put his muzzle on and held him. He was fine. Monster Dog is the Richard Lewis of the dog world - so that might give you an idea... |
