Well I'm back. Not sure if I'm fuming or just upset. That's the third time I've been shelved out to the phlebotomist to take the blood. The doctors have cut hours and only see to "real" doctor things. Taking blood is just so ordinary... Each time, this woman can't find a vein, has three goes at it, apologises how she hates hurting me (it's excrutiating) and then tries the other arm, three pricks in all - each hurting badly - and leaves me bruised having also taken so long to do it as it only trickles out. I so want to put in a complaint but it seems mean, cos she'll surely get to know and she's so apologetic ("Don't thank me, I should be thanking you for putting up with me"), but she just isn't up to it. No one ever had a problem finding my veins before. And now this afternoon there's the proper optician... I hate being shut in this small dark room with this guy so close to me. But that's a different story. It might even be a lady this time! Anyway, my pain is nothing to yours, Wu - how is it this morning? You getting any sleep? |

No. Today I'm going to book in and see a doctor as soon as the computer at the surgery is up for appointments. Receptionist is so apologetic but its not her fault. The engineer is there now and she said give it another ten minutes. I just want some viable pain relief. Amd the thought of working next week horrifies me but there is no choice. I could take time off but that won't stop the work needing to be done and piling up, and there are deadlines. I remember in hospital they took 7 stabs in one arm and four in the other and were seriously considering g=using my feet  When do you get your results? Things is, I don't trust her because first time she said I didn't need urine nor fasting... This time she said "You want HDL, LDL, whatever that is..." and hadn't heard of "full lipid panel" or trigs  A vet could do better  Yeah, I know it can be worse. The yemail results. Sometimes I have to ask for the FULL results as they assume you won't want to know anything else. 2 days, I think. I hope they've fitted you in by now. Sitting at work will be agony for you. And lack of sleep makes coping really difficult. I'd be wailing too! |

So I have drugs. Paracetemol (no side effects) and a hefty dose of codeine that you can't buy over the counter. Side effects will be possible drowsiness and definite constipation. I can double the codeine at need. Make sure I stay very hydrated and eat foodstuffs I know will "loosen me" - lovely euphemism And brufen gel to rub on. Mustn't eat brufen tablets - clash with other stuff. Can't do voltarol, tramadol, diclofenac or a bunch of others. So let's hope these work then. It was the painting that stuffed it apparently. Good to know. He says it's not rowing connected and feel free to row my little heart out  . Definitely use a left hand mouse. I have decided that the pain lives with me, not me with it, and I will live my life as if it weren't here and just damn well cope when it is.And the doc thinks I need to see a consultant neurologist about the epilepsy meds  .
