This morning on my walk to work, this mantra came to me for the Death card: Gobinde, mukunde, udare, apare Hariang, kariang nirname, akame (Sustainer, Liberator, Enlightener, Infinite Destroyer, Creator, Nameless, Desireless) And here is my favourite recording of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvDrLb45_ZQ (You can sustain the single note chant all through the music.) I'm not sure if it entirely fits everyone's idea of the Death card, but I try not to ignore my intuition in these things. Transformation. Rebirth. Hariang, Kariang. I also really like the idea of Death being nameless and desireless. __________________ One Deck Wonder - Tarot of the Sidhe and Froud Faeries' Oracle - Beltane to Summer Solstice 2013 Last edited by Carla; 16-08-2012 at 05:44. |

Here is a good article that explains better than I can why I think the Kali mantra should be used for Tower: http://www.beliefnet.com/Faiths/Hind...e-Ego.aspx?p=1 __________________ One Deck Wonder - Tarot of the Sidhe and Froud Faeries' Oracle - Beltane to Summer Solstice 2013 Last edited by Carla; 17-08-2012 at 16:05. |

I must share something about Kali and Death with you that's humorous though. I ordered the Yoga Tarot from Lo Scarabeo and it arrived today. Guess who is represented on the Death card with Skull mala beads around her neck?! :O My jaw dropped. I only saw a couple images of the cards online, but not of the Death card! I felt so drawn to the images and being a yoga teacher, I had to get the deck. It's so beautiful!! However, the last couple of days, I was thinking about your connection with Kali and the Tower and I completely see Kali fitting there too. After seeing Kali on the Death card in the Yoga Tarot I just had to laugh since I've been working with both lately, how perfect tha my newest deck represents the two as one. No wonder I kept feeling this so strongly! Thanks again for posting all of your mantras, I'm enjoying your selections and the inspiration of the joining of mantra with Tarot! Death
Isaiah 40:8 יָבֵשׁ חָצִיר נָבֵל צִיץ וּדְבַר-אֱלֹהֵינוּ יָקוּם לְעוֺלָם: yaw-bashe khaw-tzeer naw-bawl' tzeets ve-dawbar elo-hee-noo yek-oom' o-lawm' (Grass withers, the flower fades and falls; but our God's word abides forever.) 6-8A voice says, "Shout!" I said, "What shall I shout?" "These people are nothing but grass, their love fragile as wildflowers. The grass withers, the wildflowers fade, if God so much as puffs on them. Aren't these people just so much grass? True, the grass withers and the wildflowers fade, but our God's Word stands firm and forever." __________________ "I am a diviner, but a poor one." |
