I'll be in Friday around lunchtime! Which is blowing my mind because I'm leaving NY early morning... don't think I can check in the hotel till 3 p.m. though. Hopefully they'll hold my luggage so I can walk around a bit. Unfortunately my whole trip will be contained in about 72 hours. Have to take a redeye home Sunday night. Ugh. |

NOTE: I know the hotel held luggage for people flying out that checked out since the seminar is still going after checkout on Sunday. There were no problems that I heard of last year. |

I have been able to change my arrival from late Friday to late on Thursday. I will be getting around midnight I expect, if everything goes well. I am currently planning on leaving at 320 on Sunday so that means leaving the conference early. : ( Boo! But on the glimmer of hope spoke with my boss last night and there is chance that she is going to let me off on Monday and Tuesday so I may be changing my flights and enjoy more time. (Can't imagine what that will cost but I am for it if I can get five days in San Fran instead of three.) Haven't started packing yet but it has crossed my mind. I have thinking about what decks to bring and tell myself I always over pack. Working everyday until then and loads of other stuff to do before hand. So all in all busy but very excited about the trip. I am up to hanging out on Friday. I hear that the hotel is only a mile and a half away from Fisherman's Wharf and so I am pretty much planning on walking over for lunch on Friday, weather permitting. Can't wait to see everybody and have a great weekend. Onxy. |

I left to drive home on Sunday last year and I was so bummed to leave the hotel because a bunch of people were headed to the bar to continue the post-seminar fun and games. Then, I had to rent a hotel about an hour from home because the drive was wearing me out... Sooooo, this year, I'm not making that mistake again! I've got my room thru Sun nite. Really glad you get to make it out. Hope you can work it out with your boss. I know you have been really dedicated to them for years if it is the same place you were working when we met years ago at Reader's Studio. ETA: I too always over pack decks, even on a simple trip anywhere. I'm going to try my very hardest to bring 3 or less. That will be an accomplishment if I can do it since I often take 3 decks in my bag to town. (Heck, often my bag just has decks in it and I carry my wallet separately. What a nut.) If we are lucky & it's like other years, we will end up with freebies from Thalassa, then there are always decks tempting us to buy them... Quote:

So I was able to change my flights back home really cheaply but the hotel is booked up after the conference so I am going to have to find another place to stay for the two nights after but should be a problem. Just happy I will get to stay for the whole conference! Really looking forward to a fun time. Onyx. |

Hooo whee,... I haven't been on this forum for a while. I will be at BATS this year,...I plan on touchng down at SFO around 2:30ish. There are quite a few people going to BATS who are registered here, Marcia will be there with her 2nd ed. of her Dust Bunnies Lenormand and I think her other Tarot decks. The Tarot Garden of course, but if you want anything special you will have to PM Dan via FB. There will be lots of stuff happening, and I also know that Major Tom, now of Dallas TX, no longer of the UK will be there. __________________ Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. ~ Joseph Campbell 'As Eckhart Tolle said I lived with many spiritual teachers, all of them were cats...' BATS was a blast. Always good to see old friends and meet new ones! My favorite class was Diane Wilkes' Tarot/Astrological Passages followed very closely by Gina Thies' Courtly Love - Partnership Choics and the Court Cards. In the raffle I won the Tarot Lovers Notebook and the thing I really wanted - the 2000 piece puzzle of the uncut sheet of the Golden Tarot of Klimt put out at some point by Lo Scarabeo. (There is no date on the outer box, and Dan from Tarot Garden couldn't remember when they received them.) Deck-wise, I think I was very good (naysayers, get thee away! ) buying China reprints of the Connolly, Tarot of the Spirit and Haindl; and Le Tarot des Femmes Erotiques (met the creator, and she's a really nice woman). From Fields, which is closing in January , I bought Tarot 1860, Beyond the Celtic Cross by Paul Hughes-Barlow and Catherine Chapman and Fortune Telling with Tarot Cards by Stuart Kaplan along with a color-your-own Major Arcana deck. My Fields purchase was the only thing I charged, paying cash for everything else.BATS will be in San Jose next year at the same place that Pantheacon is held, so I won't have to stay at the hotel as I'm only 20 min or so away! (That'll mean more money I can spend on other things at BATS. )
