We want as many people as possible who are interested in our forthcoming book, "Tarot Face to Face" (Llewellyn Worldwide) to purchase it (from Amazon (US) if possible) on that ONE specific day!

And one person who does so will be in with a chance to win a true "Golden Ticket", giving them a trip to their nearest Tarosophy Tarot Convention in 2013 with flights, travel, accommodation and convention ticket, and exclusive 'backstage' access to everything that goes on! Not only that, the Golden Ticket holder will be feted throughout the whole of 2013, with surprises in store every month!

Why are we doing this? Well, we want to see if we can get, even for ONE DAY, 5th September, a Tarot book into the Top 10 of Amazon's non-fiction list, bringing it to the attention of mainstream readers, who may not have considered Tarot before as a subject of interest. Whilst this is obviously good for us, it may be even better for everyone already interested in Tarot, if we can raise awareness more widely and blow away some cobwebs, as the book is designed to do.

By a large number of folk buying this book on ONE particular day, this might break through the vast numbers of other books on sale and raise Tarot as a subject worthy of general interest. We will see, no-one has tried anything like this before. We have even had to co-ordinate this with the publisher, printers, distribution agents and Amazon.

You can go read a lot of the book by preview on Amazon, BUT DO NOT PRE-ORDER OR BUY IT ... ONLY ON SEPTEMBER 5th ... If you want to help get Tarot face to face and have a chance at the Golden Tarot Ticket.

Of course, you can buy it any day afterwards, the prize though is only open for purchases that day.

Questions welcome, in case we have missed something! You can buy it any time your local time during that day, and all entries will count, wherever you have purchased it - although Amazon (US) is our preference.

Send us proof (email confirmation) that you purchased it on September 5th to goldenticket@tarotprofessionals.com. We must receive this by Friday 21st September.

On Friday 21st September, you will then be sent a special question to answer, and tie-breaker question, and one person who succesfully answers the question and is judged to have the best tie-breaker answer, in case of ties, will be awarded the Golden Ticket.

As we will be having Tarosophy TarotCons in many new locations over 2013, this promotion is worldwide, available to anyone, for a $15 purchase of the book on that day, 5th September.

Thank you for your kind comment. We came up with the idea because "Around the Tarot in 78 Days" briefly made it (for about an hour!) to position 325 out of the 8,000,000 books on Amazon. So we figured with a little bit more focus on one day (September 5th) we might have a chance to get Tarot up there for a moment with other subjects, although the slope is steeper with every step after the top 1,000th position.

It'd just be nice to see Tarot listed briefly with Health, Politics and Cooking, perhaps. We'll see what happens, as we don't think anyone (in this field at least) has really tried something like this before.

Does Kindle edition count... and if not what about if we buy from Book Depository or Fishpond in New Zealand for example? (its free shipping, otherwise it is pretty expensive through Amazon..)

Hi Winterchild, yes for sure, any edition will count, as long as it is on that day, and from any source. It looks as if the Kindle version (US) will be available on 1st September, so it should be available on the promotion day, 5th September. Thank you for asking!

Glassowl, I know - we would prefer it to be a simple random draw, however that *might* be an issue here in the UK (even though this is a global promotion) due to lottery legislation. That's why so many promotions in the UK have a "Answer this simple quiz, is the capital of England A) London, B) Paris C) Sydney" and a tie-breaker part, because if it is simply a random draw, that is a lottery, and one would have to be legally registered as a lottery promoter! Most people wouldn't worry about that, like at a village fair lottery, etc. etc., but we always try to be aware of these things.

Tarotbear, good clarification thank you! And there's a next book - The Tarot Cookbook! Although immediately doing a Google on it, one finds that someone had the idea in 2007, and I'm sure we'd find it here on AT too. LOL.

Hi All

Llewellyn have also this week told us they will add some Tarot decks into the prize pot, and we will also add some decks, including one "Original Lenormand" (limited edition 250 copies), and Tarosophist International magazines too.

We will also add a couple of decks from Lo Scarabeo ... and probably much more for the winner - we really do want the prize to be a true "Golden Ticket".
