This is my first post here, so I am happy that it is a sharing post! I received my Madenie deck just a few weeks ago, and it is really beautiful, I couldn't be happier with a tarot deck. I have a few images from a review of the cards, posted in my blog, which I am unable to upload here.. is it permissible to link to that particular post from this thread? The blog itself is a bit lean as I had to reboot it recently, and I think this would be the only post on the blog that would interest folks here anyway. And alas, I have nothing to sell

Ok then, enjoy some photos of these lovely cards: http://www.caerdroiandream.com/2012/07/31/8/

I have ordered a second copy of this lovely deck. I have just re-read Whitley Strieber's book 'The Path', which uses a cross-like mandala arrangement of the Majors. It is based upon the Jodo/Camoin deck, and it was interesting to juxtapose some of these images with the Madenie as I reflected upon them. The Marseille decks each have their own character, as much as do more modern and fully illustrated decks. The Madenie is mellow, and speaks quietly. At least that is my impression.

Yesterday l read through all the posts about this deck. The reviews are really informative and so positive that l decided to check the deck out by going to Yves website. The cards look really vibrant and my instant feeling was 'oh yes have to have these'. Now bearing in mind l work with the 1JJ and vowed l would not need another deck ever, l am feeling somewhat unfaithful and naughty!! but there is something magical about this deck that seems to draw me in.
I e-mailed Yves yesterday to check that there were still copies available, and yes got quick reply back, so now l have my trembling, excited finger poised to press the PayPal button. Before l do can l have your comments as to how well they read for you and what your feelings are when working with them i.e. do you feel certain energies with them.
Await your comments with interest.

It's certainly a "reader" deck if you're into TdM, I've got the 1JJ too (AGMuller and an italian clone) but don't read much with it. Compared to a Conver fac simile such as Heron or Lo Scarabeo, the back pattern is certainly a plus.
The pictures look sharper, so does the reading, it has an elegant way of telling things, maybe mannered at times, but keeping that essential "ancient" feel.
Sharp, elegant and a bit mannered, something of a feminine "air" energy.

In fact I think you'll enjoy it and will eventually find some aspects you like in the 1JJ in this deck.

On a pragmatic side : you'll want to get used to its cardstock, weight and square corners to shuffle the cards well.

Thank you Bertrand for your reply, very informative and just what l was looking for. I like the fact that you see something of the 1JJ in it, maybe thats why l feel so attracted to this deck.
The 1JJ has given me some very good readings so l was a bit hesitant to get another deck that would confuse me by being so different. I am fairly new to Tdm decks, but l do like what you have said about the Madenie.
If the square corners are a problem l can round them off with a card rounder which l have used for other cardstock.
Thanks again, l will treat myself to them!!

Wink Number

Hello happy forumers,

Today I want to give you only one number: 347

The updated figure of how many Pierre Madenié facsimile decks had been sold.

I want also to thanks you for your enthusiasm and advises, comments on my work and remarks.

2013 will be again a "facsimile taro year" with my new deck as you may know but also those of other independent tarot deck producers.

We are a rather small community of individual producers plus some specialised editors but we share in common a real dedication to this strange cards and their various univers.

I don't do it for money but for passion and probably for having my "15 minutes of celebrity" as said somebody.

Next week will be crucial for me about Tarot and I wish you a very good week end.

Enjoy life and play your game with wisdom.

Salutations from Marseilles City Capital of Tarot

Yves

Wow, I read this thread and want this deck. I've not been much into Marseille decks but this one looks gorgeous!
Will it be good even for a newbie to TdMs?

To tell you the truth Nickigirl, they're all pretty much of a muchness as far as coming at them from a newbies (to TdM) point of view is concerned. Best advice is to pick one you really like and work with that one
