So sorry, Penthasilia, i just noticed that you and i posted at the same time and i didn't
even see your post till right now
i will put you down for moon version 5, but i am thinking it is maybe too dark for this deck..
when you put 'ALL' the cards out next to each other they all need to blend in well...maybe if
i lighten up version 5 a little, but, it might ruin the feel of the card...i will play with it though and see.
Thanks for your vote, Penthasilia

And this one:

They are both gorgeous! But Moon 5 is my very favorite, as it is truly Magical to me. i hope you don't make it much smaller, if you do.

P.S. i like the new Sun [version 3] Card much better!
Sis, i am still thinking about version 5, if i can lighten it a bit it might work...this is a
lighter deck plus i have to think shabby chicness and how each card works with the other cards.
But i will try to get it in the special deck...
Thanks sis...

wow, have i missed a lot!

My thoughts/votes:

whip/broom: #1
I think I like the original two the best even though they are a little busy. I prefer #1 over #2 as the broom in #1 looks it is originally part of that background and not as pasted in as the broom in #2. Also the lighter broom makes the whip look less floaty. The whip in #2 looks much more contrasted so the "floatiness" is increased. I like the house/porch background of the later versions but the broom unfortunately does not mesh as well with those backgrounds. Also with the whip just laying on the porch, it's almost goes unnoticed. I do kind of like #9 though. So #1 is my favorite, followed by #2 and #9.

heart: Is there only the one version?
This one doesn't work for me. When I look at this card, all I see is a pillow on a chair. If the word "heart" was not written on the card I would have never guessed this is supposed to be a heart card in a Lenormand deck. The pillow is heart-shaped, but the yellowed lace is actually a little depressing. It definitely doesn't feel like a card representing love and emotion to me.

Crossroads: Version 1, white! Really nice card.
I agree with your last assessment Lynn, the white one is really really nice.
# and 4 are really nice, but they don't say "crossroads" as much to me as #1 does, and the white version is really nice and natural looking. the pink tree in the foreground was a little distracting to me, but I think it was because it matched the pink road. With the road being a natural color, the white tree does not interfere with the rest of the card for me as much. This card looks better without the road sign. Does a bifurcation in aroad (or a fork in the road) count as a crossroads? It's likely my own personal bias, but when I hear the word "crossroads" I automatically think of the use of crossroads in various mythologies and always picture the intersection of two roads that cross ("cross" "roads") each other rather than one road that splits into two. Regardless, I think that version 1 white is a really nice image and would make a fine Lenormand card.

Lillies and Clouds: The cards you posted both work for me!

Book: I prefer version 4 over any of the new ones. I particularly do not like Versions 10-12. The pentagram on the book confuses the meaning for me. I took a look back at your original book versions, and if I'm honest, Version 2 is really awesome and the best book card you've made. Is it too late to vote for version 2? If so, definitely version 4 then.

Moon: #5
I thought I was going to pick #3 until I opened #5. Stunning. #3 is a close second for me though. I don't think the moon card with the butterfly works with this deck at all. It looks animated like it belongs in a deck with fairies and unicorns.

Sun:
I like the new sun card. I like the intensity of the bright light. It's almost like the sun is actually shining from the card and it hurts my eyes a little. I liked the old sun card too and felt that it was more masculine, which is appropriate for the sun card. They are both good cards. If it was possible to mix the masculinity of the first card with the brightness of the second....but I cannot think of how. They both work though, and I think either is perfectly fine in the deck.

garmonbozia, you're back...Hi!
i have put you down for the following versions:
Whip/broom: original version 1

Heart card: Thanks for reminding me, and i just did a 2nd version of the original heart (pillow) card.
...a lot of 'heart' pillows are used in the shabby chicness world (sewn by women for those they love)
and they are known to mean "love" and represent relationships...
...so i will be keeping this card. This is probably more of a women's deck than a man's deck...
So women will get the message of the pillow (love heart)...and it is really so shabby chicness.
i did change 'most' of the background to more white...but left some of the ecru colored lace
around the heart because it is also a color lace used greatly in shabby chicness and we women
love it and don't find it depressing, at least i don't...but however i did change most of the
card to 'white,' and the heart pillow to a more pink color and deeper...
So now it stands out well and does match the other cards really well. So i am very happy
with leaving this card in the deck. Plus everyone has loved it so far, except you. You can
see my second version of this card below.

i am so glad you brought up 'crossroad' v/s 'paths/roads'... because most of the old lennie decks
that i have seen in the museums use the word 'path' and not crossroads...and 'most'
of them do 'not' show an actual crossroad and they do show 'paths'...and more like
a forked road or paths coming from the same direction and going off in two different directions.
It is true i have also seen a couple of decks with an actual crossroad on it, i think.
Thank you so much for bringing this up...i need to change my 22 card title to say: 22. The Paths
and i will do that when i edit the deck coming up in the next couple of days.

Lilies and Clouds...i am so happy to hear that you like those. Sometimes cards just 'click'
when you are making them...and sometimes not...LOL Those two did click for me!

Book: i put you down for version 4...(sorry version 2 was nixed by everyone because it had
a 'bunch' of letters which was too confusing with the letter card)...thus we ended up with version 4.
As far as the pentagram books, i did that for a specific member that wanted a different book...
and i have yet to hear what the member has to say about this version...
So far everyone else has picked version 4 as their best choice.

Moon: i have put you down for version 5...everyone is picking that one also...but i definitely
will need to work on it when i edit the deck...as it is way too dark for this deck .
i guess i like the butterfly moon ...but so far i guess i am the only one LOL It is lighter and
fits in pretty well with the deck...more so than version 5 (talking about darkness in colors)
Version 5 will probably be in the special deck with all the extra cards and is expected to only
cost $6 more dollars for all of the extra cards. I am planning on keeping this price for the
traditional deck at close to $20, if not exactly $20...
But i am pretty sure it will be $20 + shipping $5.95 anywhere in the usa...
and $7.95 shipping anywhere outside of the usa.

Lastly the sun card: No, i deliberately made the 2nd version to be less masculine since this
is a 'very' feminine deck. i agree with you...it is 'bright' LOL...exactly what i wanted so that
when you see it...you know right away it is the sun card! Plus it is light and airy...
However, if there are enough people that want the original darker sun put into the special extras deck,
then i can include it as an extra card...same with the moon card.

Thank you garmonbozia, for your critique and votes...

Hugs, Lyn

YES...YAY ...remember i told you that i have 'lived' each of these cards
during the process of working on them? Well here it is now...

The 'ENDING' of the creation of this deck!!! Yes, i just finished the final card...

10. The Scythe card... is done and it is now the 'cutting off' of any more cards being created!

...finish...over...done...THE CARDS have all been created and this has ended 'abruptly and suddently' tonight...
and is sooooo the Scythe card meaning!!! ...and i didn't plan it to be the last card...

Note: no it will not have a haystack or a haywagon...if someone wants to read this card as
a 'work' card...they still can as it IS work cutting down a field of weeds

But this is my idea of this card and i stand behind it...i am not making other versions of this card...this is it!
i am completely satisfied with this as i previously discussed this cards creation with a person
that is a very strong traditionalist and they wanted it kept simple like this.

Regarding the artwork on the scythe itself...just go online, public domain images, and try
to find a nice big and sharpe scythe. The old ones are way rusted looking...not shiny at all...
so i have achieved a semi shiny scythe and a full real scythe and with an old handle...
i am happy with this card...so i hope you can all live with it. There ! abrupt! Ending... LOL
(i feel like the scythe card right now...ha ha...cutting off things, etc.)

...So, next, i have to 'edit' and add the final borders to the cards that still need it...about half...
...but it will go fast as i have a special system set up already.

After the editing, i will then go through all the cards and the posts and see who chose
which cards and will make up a summary and print it out to work with in choosing my 'extra' cards for the special deck.

Once i have figured out exactly which extra cards will be allowed in the special deck, then
i will put, first, my 36 traditional picks in to a Grand Tableau image. Second i will also put
all my 'final' extra cards in a Grand Tableau image. And will post both images here when done.

After that i will need to upload them to my printers...piece of cake now

Then i have to set up my web site for this deck...piece of cake now

Also setting up paypal on my site is also a piece of cake for me as well...

So, all in all, this all should take me less than four or five days... The decks will be able to
be paid for through paypal (whether you have a paypal account or not, they say you can use their service)
and then the deck will go straight to you from my printer.

So there you have it, my friends
Thank you all...i really appreciated you helping me with this deck...

..and if any of you want to change your minds about some of the versions, now is the time
to do that...because i am REALLY feeling the scythe card now...LOL... Once i start the editing
i am not going to be making new versions of any cards.

And here is my 'final' card...10. The Scythe

update... i just finished editing (and proofing) cards 1 through 7... plus extras for 'some' of those as well...

So they are going very fast and looking good so far... i remembered to 'proof' some cards
right in the beginning so i don't have to go back and change or resize the whole deck at the end
Actually, i can proof each card 'right after' editing it as it only takes a second to proof them
with my new printers! YAY
...then as soon as i am done with all the editing, the deck will be ready to go!!!

The web site setup i can do in a few hours. So this deck could be available in just a few days!

Did anyone see my 2nd version of the '24. The Heart' card?...posted about 2 posts back?

...and my final card...the '10. The Scythe' card? (only 1 version)?

They both are okay...right?

Forgot (i think) to mention that there will be a small clear plastic card case (only with the
'36' card traditional deck) included included with the deck.

And the special deck (with around '30' extra cards ...LOL...) will be 'shrink-wrapped'
but no clear plastic box or tuck box. But the shrink-wrapped is nice as well from them.
Lyn

Hi sis!

i still like the first version of the Heart Card Best. [The pinkish apricot color with the ecru colored lace.]
i am very happy and excited about this deck, Lyn! You must be feeling so relieved and happy!

Thank you for the paths vs crossroads information. I think I have seen "Paths" on some decks, this makes more sense now.

I like the new heart card more than the first one. It's much less drab. The red adds just enough contrast to make the outline of the heart more prominent.

The scythe and its background look mismatched to me. The scythe has that floaty photo-shopped look, at least on my monitor. Not sure if it would look better on a card or not.

I saw the plastic cases on the website of your new printer the other day. They look quite nice. Will I be able to order one of the cases with the deck with the extra cards? I know all the cards will not fit into it, but I could keep the 36 cards I choose to use in it. I am not sure if when I place an order on your website if it will take me to their website where I could add extra items to my cart or not. If so, I'd love to order several of those cases for other decks I have.

Yes...i was trying to decide whether to speak up about the Scythe card, as Lyn had said earlier that she was done and the Scythe card was a done deal, so to speak....so i was hesitant...but, It does look "floaty" and doesn't blend well on my monitor either. Sorry Lyn, honey!

I have to second those thoughts about the scythe card. Sorry -

And I can't decide about the two hearts - the first is more drab maybe, but more realistic. More of the shabby-chic than the other. The other shows the heart more. *sigh*
Maybe there is a middle ground??
