The Star - What X Finds Unattractive About Y
The Star card was pulled for the question "what does X find unattractive (as in unattractive personality traits/qualities) about Y?" My first thought would be to see it as an ill-dignified or reversed card (even though it was not pulled as a reversed card) since I've never felt anything negative in the Star card upright. I'm just wondering if anyone has thoughts of what would be considered unattractive personality traits or aspects of the personality that are a "turn-off" to another when the Star card is pulled. Just some thoughts about unattractive attributes to the star: (think about an actual star in the sky) - distant - aloof - cold - emotional - thinking too much - a dreamer - unrealistic goals |

I would relate it to its astrological counterparts Aquarius and Uranus. So yes, that represents coolness, detachment, aloofness.. it also signifies someone who is more friendly then passionate in personal relationships, one who has quirky, eccentric and maybe even frantic qualities (think mad scientist), and one who can probably be very random, sporadic, spacey, unattainable, 'on another planet', inconsistent and unreliable. He may also see her as multi-faceted and spread very thin to alot of causes, people, etc. But believe her to be shallow and without true commitment or deep feelings. She may very well be too 'different' to him in mindset, culture, etc. -kind of like a space alien. Or she may just be too open to things that are 'different' for his taste. He may not like her independence and the fact that she beats her own dru.mHis dislike of these qualities would definitely make sense if he's a practical pentacle card! |

I would take some cues from the image itself; which deck were you using? Off the top of my head, the Star relates to the astrological sign of Aquarius (element of Air) in most Tarot decks. Negative characteristics I would -- generally --attribute to this Zodiac sign are: self-absorption, flakiness, seeming to be an "air-head", aloofness, snobiness, excessive daydreaming, being unrealistic, a tendency to get lost in the clouds. __________________ We are all teachers, We are all students, We are ALL |

Distant, untouchable, hard to reach, too perfect from a distance, cold, in another world |

Star as negative... I see someone who is distant. Not facing reality.. not like a dreamer but maybe head in the skies person. Always thinking so not readily available to be there for her. Smart.. maybe too smart for his own good. Aloof.. a humanitarian but has trouble with more personal one on one relationships. Unreachable as I see stars upright as reaching towards a distant goal.. but ill-dignified.. maybe she will never be able to reach him. |

This is a very interesting question and I'm glad you asked it, since the Star is my favorite card ![]() I use the Thoth and although I have nothing to add that was not already said, it portrays the great mother of the world, and in a negative context I think this could mean a-sexuality. If X is a man, then perhaps he sees Y as too motherly, not as an object of desire but rather one who gives all and is.. well... motherly. If X is a man, then Y could be in the dreaded "friend-zone." __________________ "Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view" Obi-wan Kenobi |
