Presidential Outcome
Okay. So since there's some debate about the clarity of the outcome of the election over in "Your Readings" I figured it was perhaps time to start a thread of just presidential readings. How to play: So. Grab your most accurate deck and do a three card reading for each candidate. Clarifiers are allowed. I don't normally do reversals but that's up to you if you feel like it works better for you. This is an experiment to see how many of you get a "Romney win" or an "obama win". I think it will end being really close and that is why we're having trouble deciding on the outcome in our readings about this. Medieval Scapini Deck, no reversals Q: Who will win the Presidential Election? I'll start: Obama: Nine of wands - three of wands - four of swords Romney: knight of swords -ace of pentacles - knight of coins Obama: We see he has struggled to get where he is and he is on the brink of moving up. However, the four/swords could represent the next four years, OR coming home from the election and resting. Three wands is "waiting for the ships to come in (votes?)" perhaps he's expecting to win. Romney: I think Romney has the potential to win (ace of pentacles) BUT he is all talk and no action (knight of swords + knight of coins). Disclaimer: I am unbiased. I have no preference on who wins or not. |

I think all these treads with readings demonstrate, that it's too easy to interpret the same results in opposite ways... which many are doing, according to their own political preferences ![]() So, for now I prefer just to wait for November. |

I'm using the Original RW Q: Who will win the Presidential Election? the out-come Romney: Tower. 9 of wands. Devil Base card - 5 of cups OK the Tower and Devil two Major cards, but do these say Victory? both cards sort of contradict each other's power - one is a shattering of all beliefs and hope and the other is keeping control of one's unrealistic desires? But the the 9 of wands is someone that is determined to see conflict through, but this is going to be a big test of his ability of holding on to something, i think he's trying to keep the flow of his popularity going but there is a sense of feeling threatend and i feel the votes will not be enough for him to win through this Election. Base card was 5 of Cups - So i think this will be a disappointing loss for Romney. Obama: Queen of Pentacles. 6 of wands. King of pentacles Base card - Star Ok Queen and King together both well established court cards, power and success with the supportive role for Obama and his wife, also we have the 6 of wands suggesting victory and triumpth over it's opposition and is surrounded by many supporters? is this saying victory for Obama i think it might be after looking at both card readings it would suggest that Obama wins the Presidential Election. Base card the Star - Faith and renewed hope is going to be restored, this card always means a positive out-come. Last edited by STAR*; 29-08-2012 at 07:03. |

Ok I'll bite ![]() Who will win? Rider Waite - no reversals Three card spread - I read the cards starting from the centre and then how the outside cards influence it. So I see the candidate as the centre card and the outside cards being the major sources of influence, being the American public Obama - Star / Two of Wands / Page of Cups Base: 8 of Pentacles I have seen Two of Wands described as 'holding the world in your hands' which is apt considering the President of the USA is the most powerful person in the free world. I think the Star card is the Tarot winking at me because it embodies hope and that is very much an Obama 'keyword'. I think this means that the hope continues and people will again become inspired by his vision and Page of Cups suggests a return of popularity and 'love' felt from the public. Eight of Pentacles simply says to me 'the work continues'. Romney - 7 of Cups / 9 of Wands / Chariot Base: 7 of Pentacles It's definitely a different energy here. With the Nine of Wands I see Romney on the backfoot, in a position where he's defending himself, paranoid and expecting the worse. Sevens tend to be quite solitary so with 7 of Cups so firstly the public will focus primarily on Romney (and not his running mate, Ryan) and I think the public will lack focus with Romney and they won't see alot of substance. The 7 of Cups also is very much about thinking and wondering and imagining but very little to do with acting and making anything concrete. So I see the public certainly considering Romney but not really seeing anything they want to act on and support. What is interesting about the Chariot is that it gives me the sense that the public will win out over him and have some sort of victory over him and run roughshod over him. In short, the public will not follow him but more likely will overpower him, hence why he is on the defensive there in the 9. This makes me think that not only will Romney lose, but he may find himself at the conclusion of the election not being very liked at all. The 7 of Pentacles is like he will be left wondering 'what if'. |
