Very good point! It might not look like a book to some folks. i am adamant about my favorite #4 Book!

gambozia, thank you regarding the scythe card...so glad you like it now. And it surely
will be much better in the deck now.

Regarding the book in version 7... i put you down for version 4 ...i do see what you mean about
the angle it is on...and it does kind of look like a box of some type. i did try to rotate it more
but the angle of the original image doesn't adapt well to rotating it...i may look for another
type of book...that is shabby chicness antique...Victorian if i can find another one...but with a
better angle...
thank you for your vote and critique

LOL, sis, not to worry i am putting version 4 in the deck for sure...
You will have the version 4 book card in your little hands soon...

@ everyone
You know, i just realized that i used to travel and go to BUY and SELL at antique shows, years past.
All my closest friends are antique dealers and i know antiques really well. The 'book' in
version 7 IS an antique locked book...diary type. i have seen a lot of them and owned a few as well.
They are so beautiful and also fit in with the shabby chicness style. i also realize that it is very
difficult making every single person happy here since we 'each' have our own idea of what
shabby chicness is or what a book, heart, whip, etc. is or should look like i do have
to keep remembering this deck is 'shabby chicness' style and a regular boring book doesn't work well for me.
It needs some chicness...shabby or not...LOL

i am looking for another book for version my last 2 versions of the book card, because i just
love the lamp, the tables, and the lace curtains in version 7... But that shabby chicness mosaic tile
table is to die for! (not literally of course LOL)

Re: version 4, if you voted for it...along with almost everyone else...
So by popular demand, it will be in the deck, rest assured...and thanks for indulging me
regarding my latest book cards...

Lyn

Oh Lyn, i would LOVE to have this one for my 2nd book card--Pleeeeze!!!

http://www.tarotforum.net/attachment...8&d=1346144334

That one is truly gorgeous!!! YUM! If i would have seen this one before #4, i would have really been in a quandary.i think i actually might have chosen this one instead!!! i am thrilled we get to have 2 book cards! Gotta have this one! i know i am incorrigible, but it is your fault! Tempting me with such a new gorgeous book card!

Hugs and Blessings,
MG xxxxxxxxxx

ETA: IMHO the other 2 revamped Book cards have the books piled too high; and they don't blend or match the setting nearly as well;
but i am in total LOVE with version 7-E!!!

The Book card

I really loved Version 7 B because that book/diary with that beautiful picture on the cover, well, was so Shabby Chic and the overall composition was great. But, yes, some people who are not used to this kind of books might think it is a box and we would miss the point if that would happen

So if I can't have this one my vote goes for version 7 E!

it is Shabby Chic, I lose the lock but I do love the binding and guilded pages, the lamp that I thought was awesome is still there, the lace drapes in the back too all that creating a great composition

Now, I have a favor to ask, could we have "The Crossroad card" Version 4 at least in the Extras????? That is really my favorite I still don't like the way the pic was taken for the one that has been chosen, i don't like the angle and when you came up with Version 4 that was the answer! everything is great about it, at least to me...

May I have Version 4, pleasssssssssssse

My sis, version-E is the gorgeous velvet book...glad you like it, i have tweaked it
a little (shading, etc.) so this could well be the second book card...
I have made up some more book versions...see below...maybe you will like one of
those better?
Thanks, hon

LadyZelda, i have changed the title to: 22. The Paths ... as i found that to be on
most of the old decks...and my roads won't actually 'cross' in our card.
RE: version 4, i could try to 'shabby chicness' it up a little...add some flowers, etc....
maybe it would then blend better with the deck...not sure until i try it...i will give it a go...
but in the meantime...you can look at some more book versions i just made...(for the extra book card)
i think everyone wanted the book version 4... (which i have now combined into 1 of these new versions below)
Thank you LadyZelda

@everyone
i did get sidetracked with the 'book card' and as soon as
this gets settled in my mind, i can get on with the editing...YIKES... but i am certain
we can come up with the right book(s) ?

...can't wait to see which book card(s) you pick now from these 5 cards???
(think 'shabby chicness')

Book Version 4 and 7 combined

This is a great mix!

Now if you could find a pair of old wired glasses without the case it would look better, less prominent.

And you need to "clean" the black shadow by the edge of the books, under the bottom of the book and lock and that "voila"!

ETA: With these few details taken care of, I would vote for that Version

LadyZelda, i just made the glasses (with case) a little smaller and moved them back
a little so they don't stand out quite as much. Wire rimmed glasses without a case are out
of the question for me because of the background of the mosaic table which would overpower
a plain pair of wire frame glasses.
Re: the shadow under the book ...LOL i just added that shadow there...
...so will see how it looks with it off again...
Thanks, LadyZelda...

i hope everyone likes this new 'combined' version???...(since you all liked these same books in version 4)...right?
This way i get in my lamp and my table that i love so much and is soooo shabby chicness...right?

Yep you got it, for the glasses!!

Once you have cleared up the "black shadow" edges of the books you'll be all set! When you look at where the light would come from on that composition the black edges have to go.

I'm so glad to get back the 2 books from version 4

LadyZelda, ...glad you think the glasses are okay now...they do
look much better pushed back into the shadow of the lamp.
Geese...i just love my lamp and mosiac table in this card.

And if everyone picks this combined version, then we can also have version 7-E (red velvet book)
in the deck as well. (both cards look very Shabby Chicness to me)
Thanks, LadyZelda...

ETA: LadyZelda, i just looked again at the card, and the shadow is actually part of the 'clasp'
and has to be there or it will look off...
(BUT...i removed part of it so the rest is the clasp) and there needs to be 'some' shadowing
under the font of the book because the 'tattered' page edges hang out from the book casting that
shadow onto the table...i think i need to leave all that there...i tired to cut it out...
...and i don't like it so i leave it. When the card is the final lennie poker size, then it won't show up quite as much.

Lyn
p.s. these are the two cards i am talking about:
