Well, the Vertigo and I are kind of hobbling along...still kind of wary of each other, lol! I thought it would be going a little smoother by now. There is some artwork I really love in this deck, especially the entire suit of pentacles, but I'm definitely finding it more difficult than I expected. Some of the cards just don't do it for me at all, and when I read the LWB, some meanings are so contrived. Like, I suppose I can see what is described, but sometimes it seems a little far-fetched. There are also some really neat spins on some cards as well, but I can't decide if the really neat cards make up for the ones that fall flat for me. There are quite a few that, even after reading the LWB, I'm just not seeing it. And then I can't decide if I should use my own interpretation of what I see, what the LWB says, or the traditional RWS meaning. I'm going to keep at it, because there are some things to really love in this deck. But I'm pretty sure it's not my soulmate deck! |

Off to a bumpy start with Cat's Eye, but really settling into it now. I think my withdrawal from the cards over the last couple of months is over - mostly it was due to my eyes bothering me. The diagnosis of diabetes then took a bit to get used to. But now, i am feeling so much better and I really am getting joy from the cards again. |

Ghosts & Spirits
Liking this one although I have only just gotten it so have just done a couple of draws so far, I will do a reading this evening. Sundays card was 8 of Cups..very appropriate for my life right now. Yesterdayhowever I drew the 8 of Pentacles, and I drew it late in the day... it was about work and effort and saving money..which just didn't fit...., especially as today's card which is the Ace of Wands follows on from Sundays, quite smoothly, in the big picture. Well I was thinking about this 8 of Pentacles and it clicked! I was trying to see all the cards as a bigger picture, but the 8 of Pentacles was a mere macro shot of my life and applied perfectly to that particular day!! I had worked heaps with a friend to further study and skills, and missed the shops by overrunning time and so didnt spend the money I was planning to ![]() So sometimes the cards are just telling us...how it is right there and then! Sorry wrong thread will post in the daily draws thread. Feel free to delete this post from here mods! Last edited by Winterchild; 28-08-2012 at 17:18. Reason: wrong thread |

Wonderful that you are enjoying cards again, Chiska! I found the Cat's Eye to be really comforting. My week with the Thoth has been weird, but interesting. My daily draws feel a lot different with this deck. Still, I'm not comfortable enough to read intuitively with this deck. I haven't worked with it in a while and it takes study to really click with, at least for me. The astrology seems to be my way of connecting with it. I'm not a good astrologer, but it's really convenient that the cards have the glyphs on them. I don't remember a lot of the astrological attributions to the minors on the RWS. Incidental Tarot
I am loving the Incidental Tarot this week, and I feel certain I will be using it next week, too. I found the deck on Etsy, where the artist has a store, but her website is here: http://theincidentaltarot.com/ I was drawn to the deck, because the art reminded me of Robert Place and Nigel Jackson. There's virtually no nudity in these cards, though -- only the breasts of the Chimera (XV) are visible -- which is a big plus when I think about reading for other people, because I can't help blushing when naked cards turn up. The theme looks like English Renaissance, which is a theme I love. The names of the suits are different than usual: Roses (Water), Quills (Air), Arrows (Fire), Oak (Earth), and the pip cards are illustrated with their emblems, but in such a way to evoke the meaning of the card. (I adore the beautiful rose pips -- I can even smell their lush fragrance!) Some cards contain Latin phrases, which I really enjoy. The court cards are really lovely, with interesting faces and symbols for examination. There are Kings and Queens, but the pages and knights are renamed, i.e. the Page of Arrows is the Messenger, the Knight of Roses is the Bard. I've got to run to work now but wanted to at least check in with everyone before the week is done.

Madame, thank you for that review and those images. I never would have expected the Incidental Tarot to look like that based on its name, and I am pleasantly surprised. DruidCraft is second nature to me after using it for years to read for others. This deck's Death card packs a punch. In an uncharacteristic move (oracles are largely not to my taste), I ordered the Druid Animal Oracle to use in conjunction with it. |

![]() I LOVE the Druidcraft and completely agree about the impact of the Death card, but the Hanged Man and Lovers bring on that crimson blush when there's someone else at the table -- and even stuttering! ![]() The Druid Animal Oracle is just as beautiful as the Druidcraft, of course. (No blushing there )
