Huh, I didn't know about Alex Grey's "sacred mirror" cards--interesting. It would be really cool to see him make an actual 78-card tarot deck, though; don't know if it'll ever happen, but one can hope. I guess I'm more into the traditional tarot system than more general card systems like the "sacred mirrors." I will say this though, I'm very fond of certain oracle decks--they definitely have merit. I would like to see current fine artist's Fiona Watson and Michael Barret design their own tarot deck.... Especially Fiona :.) |

Nicoletta Ceccoli.
Just found this Italian artist. Her work is sort of creepy, surreal fairy tale-ish.... http://www.nicolettaceccoli.com |

Hard to find a favorite of mine not already mentioned here. For saturated colors and sensuous images, Paul Gaugin. __________________ Hamlet was right! But so was P.T. Barnum . . . Last edited by Barleywine; 28-08-2012 at 21:32. |

Three artists that come to mind now, whose tarot decks I'd snatch before I could say "Dain" are: 1.Brian Froud (Yes, I know he's created two faerie oracle decks both of which I own and cherish, but I'd love a non-faerie tarot deck from him) 2.Kay Nielsen and most certainly: 3.Kinuko Y. Craft!! http://www.kycraft.com/ I get exquisite shivers down my spine at the idea of a tarot deck from this fabulous artist!! |

I second the Kinuko Y. Craft response. I've seen book cover art done by her--the jewel tone colors and the way her illustrations almost like glow are amazing. If she ever did a tarot deck, I might buy it. |
