I enjoy using blue azurite as its more old fashiond use was for connecting with the the spirit world.... Its good for the body too. But it can be very strong i find so as mentioned before grounding is important. I think clear or smoky quartz is great, even sitting within a circle of quartz and amathyst is great and effective :.)

Hey everyone, I am the friend. Thanks for all the great responses, and I understand and am not offended by anything you all have said. As Eve said, I want something powerful because I want to be certain I have a genuine spiritual experience; I grew up learning to be very skeptical, so I have the tendency to come up with "rational" explanations for any spiritual experiences. So really I just want to have an experience I can't rationalize away.

As for other things to note, I generally feel pretty connected but it feels as though I have mental blocks preventing me from communicating with my guides, so I am hoping that crystals could help with that.

then start wih Blue Kyanite - that'll wipe your slates clean! lol! (really - it is very good at wiping the chakras clean of any blockage.) You'll know when you are done with it, as it becomes almost painful to use after you are cleansed.

I would then move on to clear crystal, and meditate with that. Then, i would use whatever colour/crystal came up during meditations, as with clear quartz you can be sure of receiving messages.

One thing for sure - nothing will happen if you allow your rational mind to stand in the way. You will have to ask it to wait patiently in the hall with your ego, while you meditate good luck!

Well labradorite is pretty interesting. I wouldn't worry so much about the most powerful stone. I've tried meditating with crystals that are said to be good for meditating and couldn't get anything to come through.

Part of being able to communicate with your guides/spirit is being open to receiving the signs.

I can second using clear crystal/quartz. I'm working with it at the moment, and if you the study thread for that stone, you will see I've been getting a lot of messages, and having alot of experiences with this stone.

Hi, mazuki -- welcome aboard! I think you've gotten some good recommendations so far for some of the stones held to be very useful in opening up the psychic/spiritual realms, such as Amethyst, Lapis, Labradorite, Azurite...

Then again, it's really critical to remember that experiences of this nature are incredibly personal and subjective, so the crystal that allowed a different person to suddenly understand how to get out of body at will might do nothing at all for you even if you're sitting on a boulder of it, while a stone most people view as fairly mundane might be the one that connects you with a choir of guide-figures. Not to be evasive here, but you'll have to do some experimenting to really know which stones will turn out to be "your" stones, if that makes sense?

From my own experience, I can say that I've had some great results with Amethyst and Lapis, but so far, Labradorite and Azurite haven't done much of anything for me as far as I can tell. I'd bet that everyone else in this thread would give completely different reports on even just those few stones...

Just to gather some more recommendations in one place for you, other crystals deemed to be excellent boosters of psychic and spiritual experiences would include (in alphabetical order) Angelite, Cavansite, Celestite, Covellite, Merlinite, Moldavite, Phenacite, Pietersite, Selenite, Seraphinite, and Shattuckite. I'm sure I'm leaving out a ton of others. As a general rule of thumb, stones in the blue-indigo-violet color range will also often be associated with the kinds of experiences you're seeking.

If you're hoping for communications with your guides, that's something you can work on in multiple ways, too. Meditations/visualizations with or without crystals are excellent, but you can also try communicating through other means, like divinatory media (Tarot, Oracle cards, a pendulum, scrying, bibliomancy, etc.). As someone said upthread, a lot of that is just down to asking for the contact, and then remaining open to whatever might come... Good luck with all of this -- it can be incredibly rewarding!
