OK here they come, kids! All of you need to PM me your address when you receive your partner's name so I can get those all handed out to the right people, too. If by some chance you get paired with someone who is outside the area you're willing to ship to, notify me right away and we'll do some musical chairs to make it right. OK?Please answer my PM with a PM entitled (for instance) "Grizabella's address" so that your PM with your address in it will be easy to find in my PM list. __________________ Check out the A. Oh poo! I forgot to add the spending limit for the contents of the box. Let's make it an even $20 not including your postage. Do not exceed that, please! And there's a little bit of leeway in that you can consider items you already had as being "freebies" that don't count toward the $20 if you like, but preferably, just don't spend money if you don't have to other than on your postage. In handmade items, you'd figure the cost of the supplies you needed to make the item if you have to go out and buy the supplies. Basically, this exchange isn't about money. It's about fun, making new friends, re-contacting old friends, putting creativity to work, etc. Let's give some suggestions to help the newer people get some ideas for things that can be made by hand or items that could be included that might not otherwise be thought of. I'll try to gather them into one main post that you can bookmark for ease in referring back to. One idea I had is that if your partner is a Tarot pro, make some business cards up for them. Or some other kind of little cards they could give out to say thanks to special clients, maybe? You can buy blank business cards at Walmart and other stores like that and either do each one by hand or else print them in your printer. Halloween decorations are a lot of fun to make. They can be kept and used for years and are great sentimental reminders of who gave them or made them or both. One year I took a couple packages of that spider web stuff and hid little items and candies all in through that stuff that my recipient had to dig through and find. I think it was maybe canid who one year devised some fake blood to pour around in her partner's package. It was messy but fun. Spooky candy treats are always fun. The gummy severed fingers and toes and eyeballs and such are a favorite here. One year I found some little "specimens" of grizly stuff "preserved" in little jars with sugar syrup as the liquid around the spider or rat or whatever nasty little gummy candy was in the jar. They were so gross to look at that the kids wouldn't eat some of them. LOL Dark decks and the Halloween deck are naturals for this kind of exchange if you're going to send a deck. Sending decks isn't mandatory but of course, we all LOOOOVEEE getting a new deck, even if it's used and only "new" to us. Oh, one year a member I haven't seen in awhile sent me some sinfully good cookies and I ate them all by myself! She send me the recipe for them, too, and I lost it, sadly. The cookies were sort of shortbread-y with cinnamon in them, and she said they were made with lard. She said the lard made all the difference in the taste. Does anyone know which cookies I mean? This lady lived in New Mexico of that's any help.Anyone else have any fun ideas to share? __________________ Check out the A. Nonny Mouse Thread! {Dancing around with excitement) I got my partner, I got my partner! And she has very similar taste to mine - this will be so much FUN!!! ![]() As you can see I've updated my avvie for Halloween and I even pulled out a family favorite decoration for this time of year - it's a ceramic 'paper bag' with a face carved into the front like a pumpkin. It was the first gift my husband ever gave me. I it.

just realized that my flat rate box is actually the Large Priority Mail box not the Medium sized one? The large one fits the dimensions you posted and the price, too. Just wanted to make sure because my box is nearly full. haha. yeah I got excited and started pulling stuff from my treasure chest, erm bookcase. don't worry anonymous exchange partner, your box is NOT full of books! anyhow, I just wanted to make sure that I am using the right sized box? I really like the large sized one, but will be more creative if I need to use the medium sized one. thanks for doing this, I am so excited! My partner has awesome taste, heh. Just like me! p.s. is it a surprise exchange. or does our partner know who we are beforehand? thanks! __________________ "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." -- Anais Nin |
