I was looking at the B/W pictures - it's interesting (of course) that the hospital is designed in 'Scottish Baronial Style'. What I thought was interesting was not the hunting trophies on the walls (expected) but the fact that some of the 'decorations' over the mantels were rifles and handguns! Right out in public! It this was a hospital with mentally deficient people that would have been a big liability - even if they were fakes or rendered incapable of firing!Comment to those asking about the building looking 'familiar' to those in USA - remember, many of these types of buildings had 'grand designers' and they would have worked on many continents. I worked at a prep school that looks just like Yale! But they were built around the same time - so even if they did not have the same designer (and they could have) Municipal buildings did follow norms and expectations for 'public buildings.' The restoration work is wonderful - but I doubt the building actually looked that good - even when it was brand new. __________________ I don't lead the parade - I AM THE PARADE!
