Maybe the colours were not as pure and true as they are on the computer? I don't mind endings myself, though sometimes after an exhibiton it can be difficult to start a new project.

Isn't the Ten of Cups about that deflated feeling after having completed something important?

Thumbs up Hi Kris

Wow you did it! What an amazing feat of human endevour that is. As an often starter and rare finisher myself, I am very proud of you. You give me hope. I am not quite half way there and here I am procrastinating.
Are you an ideas person? or maybe you have some lost and abandoned creative project which might be worth salvaging; finishing your deck will have shown you that you can finish anything. Maybe take a little hermit time and see what emerges.
Have you read Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way". I did and it brought me back to painting after too long away. You are an artist and that creativity will not be denied.
Anyway- unsolicited advise- there's nothing worse....

I love your cards! what a wonderful accomplishment. But perhaps before you move on you should jst lt yourself rest with how you feel now? It will change, and you'll be fulfilled and enthusiastic in time if you let your emotions get there in a natural way. After all, you have plenty of time.

magpie - I'm glad you like my cards! Thank you. Did you know that there is a Magpie in the deck?

Wooden Eye - I know that you can finish your project. Especially if it's truly meant to be. Am I an ideas person? Yes - and I used elements of that here, but the idea and creation was a bit of a mystical experience. I HAD to do it and I felt that I was helped to do it.

oh - and, nexus, the colours were great, actually. Very bright and clear. I was quite relieved about that.

So - as an update, I don't have any immediate desire to create another oracle, but I think I may try applying the same technique to some cards which people can buy singly or in groups, which would help them with things like a simple meditation... I've been experimenting with things like this on the FB page for awhile, without really realising it, so I'm going to try to get a small number done for the upcoming fair I'm reading at around Samhuinn. Busy, busy...

Thanks for all the support, guys!

How about the accompanying book? You read for me about a year ago...you have so much to say about the cards. Maybe you've already done this as well. Agreed, it's a different artform, writing...but there's a challenge.

My deck's half done, and I'm knowing that there will have to be some text as well, in whatever format.

I think that the cards are meant to serve others...either we read them for others, or we create them to offer the cards themselves. to others....but I am mostly looking forward to having them and using them in my own readings.

There's a deep deep learning and connection when the cards have come thru you not just TO you. Only card creators will know this connection. I think that's why some groups like the Golden Dawn and B.O.T.A had you copy their set for your own...a sort of psychic magical connection. And I encourage all readers to create their own...but most people would never do that.

Years ago I created a deck, and when it was done, I seldom read with it! This, I think was because I was dissatisfied with the printing and cardstock, and never went further...I wasn't that into my imagery. Now it's different, and technology has come a long way, so I know I'll get satisfactory cards when the project's done.

Personally, I'm getting excited to create other, non-card art with my art skills, limited as they are. Just for fun. Images that don't have to go with "all the others" to make a full set. The temptation is to start doing this now, but I still have 30 some cards to go!
