5 Swords isn't totally negative, truly, nor is it a reflection of your character. Remember swords are mental energy, wisdom and intelligence and how you choose to use it. Five swords can be utilizing what you have going for you, use those things to your advantage and mostly not to allow them to harm you. Thoughts are powerful things, do not give in to negativity. __________________ If you can't be a good example - - then you will just have to be a horrible warning |

Rannouch the 5 of Swords is a card of making yourself a priority which is often regarded as a negative thing but in your case it is vital that you put your own interests first. The Star means divine protection, blessings, luck, relief and faith. They are saying put yourself first and take a break. |

The trick with the Five of Swords card is that there are people on two different planes - the large form of the Victor, and the smaller forms of the Fallen. It all depends on which person you see yourself as. Everyone assumes they are always the largest character in the card, and this card does not always work that way. Some people identify with the Victor - which indicates you have been inconsiderate of others, an opportunist, or may have used devious methods to ensure your victory. In any chance it is a hollow victory, even though you are gloating over the misery of others. (schadenfreude) If you identify with the Fallen, it indicates someone has gotten a large advantage over you - possibly by subterfuge - and the only thing you can do is walk away. Remember - Fives deal with CHAOS. __________________ I don't lead the parade - I AM THE PARADE! This is not rocket surgery, ya know! Bury the past - and move on to a new tomorrow. |

I think in the context of your reading the 5 of Swords is showing feeling defeated, all these things have happened and you are feeling defeated by what life has thrown at you. But The Star is offering hope and renewal! so my interpretation is that it is a message saying hang in there! it will get better

Fives are lessons and they're also often difficult times - the sort of experiences that are difficult to live through but that really do help us to become stronger and to grow in some way. I think of them as clouds with silver linings .Fives are also the number of the self - human beings have 5 senses and are made up of 4 limbs and a head. It's for this reason that one of the pentagram's meanings is the human self.. So I think in the outcome position the 5 of Swords could be saying that you really need to put yourself first... Try to stop feeling defeated and look for the bigger, deeper lesson that there is in all of the experiences you've been having and put yourself and your best interests up there in the forefront. I hope that helps a bit. __________________ 'Be excellent to each other' - Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. 'the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.. Oh, the fives, they are a hard lot. I hate them myself, and when I get something like that I usually tell my cards "aaaaaaaand.... what?" But apart from that, I think that one of the problems lie in your question. I'm sorry for the tough time you've been having and I both sympathize and empathize (believe me, I know) but asking how a month will be, especially during difficult times is kind of like shooting yourself in the leg. It may very well be that this will be a difficult month, but that kind of question doesn't leave a lot of room to maneuver. It is putting a lot of responsibility on the cards, which can only, somewhat like a computer, do as they're told. Ask a question and they will answer, but you also have to know what to ask. A better question might be how you could make the next month better, what you could do to improve your situation. This way, any "outcome" card isn't a dead end, and if it is, Tarot gives you the chance to see different ends and possibilities. Doing A might lead to ruin, but B or C could be life savers. The cards will always give back in direct proportion to the amount of imagination you show both in your questions and in life in general. Good luck

The Fives tend to be confusing because they are the one group of cards where they can be considered Positive when they are reversed! In the interpretations in my Men's Tarot book, the Five Swords is described as TOO MUCH. {Five Pents - TOO LITTLE; Five Cups - TOO LATE; Five Wands- TOO SOON}. __________________ I don't lead the parade - I AM THE PARADE!
