Thank you for clearing that up. I had guessed there were two versions in the box but thought I should ask to make sure. Thank you, I love having the options...

So the package is 44 cards? 22 facing one direction, and the other set reversed? But otherwise the same images , the redrawn/restored version done by Mr. Flornoy? Is this right? |

There are two packs of 23 cards, actually - the 23d being a bit of text. The images are literally retraced, rather than re-drawn. Fortunately it is work that doesn't require being a grande artiste. I re-traced the Viéville, and the complete Dodal as well. A frustration with this edition is that there is no space anywhere for credits - it is probably evident, but the box for the Viéville was again designed by the inimitatable Robert Mealing. |

WOW :~) My Viéville has arrived already! Thank you so much Rox, it truly is most glorious to behold I can assure you. Lovely large cards, sumptuous colours, and such a pleasure to see all the detail, (after years of eye strain from peering at Heron's version!) The 'adapted' copy is really interesting too, and although many questions spring to mind, just a couple for now... What size are Viéville's original cards? Will you be doing the pip cards sometime? Cheers, Sumada |

The original Viéville, measured from the inner edge of the varying frame line, measures between 127-130 mm high by 69-70 mm wide. Ours is slightly smaller. The Heron is very very much smaller - a facsimile must be changed in size if the editor doesn't want to pay rights to the BN. Saves alot on paper, too. The pips aren't planned for the moment. A becoming-urgent project is to make another printing of the Noblet. Voila! |
