But there IS no connection whatsoever. It never meant to be one. There are just to parallel systems, Lenormand and cartomancy, contained by one medium, the pack of Lenormand.

When you layout the Lenromand cards, you get two maps, two messages in two different systems. One given by the Lenormand symbols and another one given by the regular playing cards. You read them separately (or ignore the playing card layout completely, if you like, does not matter).

Cartomancy can bring extra-information about persons involved and so on, but you don`t intermingle the symbols of the two separate sistem. You don`t connect Coffin with its playing card inset, but with its Lenormand surrounding symbols, and the same for playing card resulting layout, report the 9 of Diamonds with its playing card symbols from its surroundings.

What if you get 2 contradictory messages? or this doesn't supposed to happen? or would you take the second message as complimentary to the first one? But I'm afraid I am asking in a wrong thread - this one is about the creation of this deck only. Sorry.

They compliment each other, usually. And if it is a contradiction, you have to look closely, there are talking about two different things.

Yes, you can ignore them if you like. Lenormand symbols already are so complex in their web that whatever you ask, you get the message through them.

Btw, I always like to have the insets. That is why I like how these cards were designed. I hope you continue with their creation.
