I do feel like there is energy with this card, but more like potential energy. This to me is a card of ambition, potential and drive. I feel like the basis for some type of (probably work related) endeavor is in place and ready to be set in motion. I love that most of you know the symbolism behind the drawings as I've only got the itty bitty little pamphlet that came with the deck to go by. Thanks for sharing! |

I see the pyramid emerges from the sand dunes. The more you focus your energy, you then discover me, the more you dig the more pyramid emerges! With the focus and direction of Mars in Capricorn, its able to dig and dig deep and bring things forth. __________________ "A tarot journal is not for others to read and comment on how amazingly insightful you are. The Three of Discs can also be understood in relation to its position on the Tree of Life. If Keter represents pure potentiality, the beginning, so to speak, of Godhood; and Chokma represents Wisdom, consciousness of that "power" then the third stage of creation, Binah, represents the actual beginnings of the forming of Creation. This is illustrated as the Ace, pure potential; Two, Change and then the Three as Works, the actual beginning of the building. __________________ "Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view" Obi-wan Kenobi |

Three of Disks
Hi everyone, to me the Three of Disks is a visual representation of MANIFESTATION. The symbols in the red wheels (disks) are those of alchemical salt, sulphur and mercury - the basic ingredients of all manifestation. The association with the three Gunas may show that "Work" is an endless process of manifestation and destruction, going on and on... (like the turning wheels) The pyramid represents crystalization and work dedicated towards a special goal (top of the pyramid). It may also symbolize grounding (base of the pyramid) and focus (top). I never thought of the backround to show sand dunes. I thought it was the "Bitter Sea" of Binah showing the color of the princess' scale. According to the astrological attributions we may think of raw energy, ambition and stamina. Capricorn - the goat - reaching for the top of the mountain, driven by the power and fiery energy of Mars. This card is - in an astrological way - linked to Atu XV, The Devil or Pan, and the Queen of Disks. (Writing this I'm reminded of the sand dunes that appear in the QoD and the association of Atu XV with Seth, the egyptian god of the desert...) Just some thoughts that came to my mind thinking of the Three of Disks... ;-) |

When I look at this card I see a hovering pyramid sustained by 3 whirling wheels. The sand (could it be water?) is blown away by the sheer force exulted by the whirling wheels. Yet this structure is stationary (and perfectly balanced), hovering just above the ground as if getting ready to start it's journey upwards. I see an active structure filled with potentiality. __________________ "Know thy Self, and ye shall know the Universe and the Gods themselves." |
