You know the feeling when you weren't able to use the previous week's Deck of the Week for any meaningful amount of interaction and yet, despite it's being a deck you like and anticipate with approval, you just don't feel like going for another round with it this week? For various reasons, I feel at sixes and sevens in terms of choosing a deck. Some of you, jema I think, have taken a few candidates and drawn a card from each to determine which deck to use. My rules are: 1) Trumps will, well, trump all Minors and two or more competing Trumps will come down to which one I interpret in the most positive light 2) 2 of Pents, 2 of Swords, 6 of Swords, 7 of Cups, 7 of Wands, or 9 of Wands, or any of the Pages will trump all other Minors, and competing cards from among these will come down to which one I interpret in the most positive light Choice of Decks plus card drawn: - Incidental Tarot (last week's)-- 5 of Cups - Transformational Tarot-- 7 of Cups - Celestial Tarot-- 4 of Cups - Tarot of the Holy Light-- King of Cups Erm, does anyone else find this span of cards notable? 7 of Cups means Transformational Tarot by Arnell Ando wins. Elendil, can you please put me down for it? Thanks. You have a certain way with words. I can't find a word for it the moment, but it usually results in putting a smirk on my face. |

I pulled cards from 4 or 5 decks last month to aid in my choosing a deck for the week- got three Tower cards. __________________ May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. - George Carlin |

I remember that. Has anything Tower come to pass yet? |

Tarot of the Spirit from Last Week
I'm afraid I was not very good about posting with this deck. My first impression was that the book was a bit too New age-y in tone, but I like her approach to the Tree of Life having read on. I think it's better suited to personal work and meditation, but I also didn't try reading for anyone else with it. At first, I thought that the images might be too abstract for me, but I think that forces me to use my intuition more and rely less on intellect and past experience with the cards. After reading one of the threads on here about the 20th anniversary edition being a much better printing, I decided to use an Amazon gift card to order it. This broke my "no new editions of decks I already have" rule, but people here seemed to be entirely favorable about it. |

Ugh, I'm sorry. Hope all is well for you. The Tower is the one I always dread pulling. I've had too much of the Tower in my life these last 10 years. Maybe to make up for my life being more or less perfect until about age 26! lol |

Things looking better these days. Even better if I get the Daniloff deck in a few weeks. __________________ May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. - George Carlin |

I'm going to jump in with the Sacred Circle Tarot. I picked this deck up back around Christmas and haven't gotten around to using it or even studying it much. I am finding that some of the photo collage decks do hold a certain fascination for me. I guess partly because I have ideas for two such decks. Anyway ... today I (finally) did a new deck reading with this deck along with my daily 3-card draw. Both very good readings and I'll post both shortly. I'll also be back with a bit about how I'm liking the deck. Last weeks work with the Fantastic Menagerie Tarot had some mixed results for me. But, the week was awfully busy and had a few upsets. So, I'll probably revisit it again in one of these D.o.t.W. ... weeks. Silent Tarot this week
I worked with the Silent Tarot last week but didn't have a moment to sign up last week but would love to join this week with this deck. I'm still getting to know it so more time with it will be wonderful. I've been working with the small deck and using the large deck to display with. I've never done this with a deck and am enjoying displaying a larger deck on my altar. I know the artist of the deck was saying that this deck was made as an art project not necessarily for divination but she got a lot of responses from people to publish it and so she did. So there are little things in the deck that can be a bit awkward to read with but nothing that takes away from it as a whole. For example, none of the Major Arcana are numbered, they are titled, however. The majors not being numbered isn't a total annoyance though because if you are one who likes Justice as 8 and Strength as 11 you can use this deck! I love the Victorian images that she uses on the cards. They are so interesting and draw you in. I'll have fun with these again this week. Sorry to be late to the party again, I want to keep signing up on this thread because it really helps me stay focused during the week. Before I found this thread my head would just roll trying to figure out what deck to use!

Several months ago, I resolved to record my thoughts on DoftheW decks within individual deck threads in the Tarot Decks sub-forum but never did. Here's my attempt to remedy that with this week's deck: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread...73#post3288973 |
