It kinda goes against my ethics! But I have done for sure. Mostly health or love readings. Like "is this the guy for them"? I did a reading for someone who was so depressed about their employment situation. The reading was so positive and gave good advice. So then I asked her if I could do a reading to cheer her up! She really liked it ![]() I am not perfect but I do try to get permission from others. I guess the readings are for my own peace of mind about them! |

I'll admit, I do. Mostly I did when I was just starting, before I found AT -- reading for myself was confusing, and I needed to get practice somehow. I still do sometimes, but rarely, and most times for people who I know wouldn't mind (you know, those people who are always asking for readings anyhow ). Although sometimes, I have to say, it's just human curiosity getting the best of me.

I have read on matters that were none of my concern twice that I remember. The motivation was just to put my cards into motion doing SOMETHING, and those two topics happened to be the most readable at the time. Generally I wait until the other folks ask me before I do readings about them. There are times when I do readings about others without getting their permission, but those occasions always involve actions taken against me by the other parties. In which case I believe "all's fair..." __________________ NIHIL EST-- IN VITA PRIORE EGO IMPERATOR ROMANUS FUI! |

I rarely read "for" someone without their permission...but I do read "about " them if they are part of my life and their choices affect me. Sometimes it's self-defense, sometimes it's for planning ahead, sometimes it's just curiosity...almost always it's for understanding...I keep it to myself. It's a tool to be used, and to my mind, ethical. I really don't see how you can avoid it unless you live on a rock in the north atlantic with just seals...and even then you might get curious about what and why they're doing whatever.

When I'm tempted to read about someone else for the sake of curiosity usually my question is "What the hell is wrong with them???" and the tarot answer wouldn't matter, it's my own behavior that matters. So, no. I only see people in the cards if I"m reading for them, or if they show up in readings for someone else. |

Have I yet again killed an interesting thread? ![]() I want to add, for me it's not really about the ethics of prying. I once read, "there are two kinds of people"--those who, when they use someone's bathroom, look in the medicine chest, and those who do not. |

O Debra! The forum thread slayer! Give no quarter! Ok, I'll stop now. ![]() Quote:
I've never been curious as to what might lurk in someone's medicine chest, but I have been curious as to the motivations of others. |
