Thanks for the picture. Love the blog too and look forward to reading more about your adventures creating a deck.

When I look at the camel for some reason I get a sense of peace. It's odd...I don't necessarily think of a camel as a peaceful animal. Perhaps it is more calm and a reassurance that things will be ok....IDK.

I love animals guides and have identified two of mine at this point. The dragonfly and the fox.

I love animal guides too I did do some work in the past channelling peoples message guides and putting to paper the swan on the blog was the example of one... so much fun I have had a couple of foxes come through in the past also and they are a fantastic guide to have especially if you work in sales

I completely get what you say about the camel I think the blue used in the background helps create that feeling too.. but the camel is always calm just doing what it has too.. and thanks for the positives on the blog still in its infancy.. have a lot of work to go yet..

Since it's Sunday and I have a lot of time staying in bed with my sore neck, it's time for vision quest, I think. I'm still clinging to my Heart of Faeries deck which is hard!

This time, I started shuffling my deck the Thief just dropped on my knees. Ok, ignore this guy! I started shuffling my deck and those puppy eyes still looking at me. Aw, I just can't say him no while personally I don't like thieves especially with such pleading and honest eyes. But as I can see below, many participant struggled with challenges of their own.

----

Now, when I'm looking at him I can there is a picture forming at the back of head. I can see myself and the Thief walking through the forest, he's has a strong grip on my hand so I can't ran away. We walking through the fallen trees, rocks, mud and pine's branches to the cave with something shining brightly from the inside. Thief leads to the cave and I can see there is a lot of gifts and treasure from many people. And my own stolen treasures are here, too! It took a time to mind my lost gifts but at the end I coming out of the cave with Thief waiting for me under the dark night sky. He hugs me and I feel how his warmth seeping under my skin. He's smiling. We don't talk but I can understand now why his eyes are honest and bright. He doesn't steal something from eyes, he takes abandoned gifts. Of course, it's not the best thing to do but he's scared that we will destroy those precious things if he will not snatch them before. He can take love, warmth, ideas and other things left unclaimed but he'll bring them back if tame has come for the owner. That's why, I think, he was looking at me with those eyes...

Well their bodies are so well suited to their climate that I suppose they haven't much to worry about. Being able to walk out into a desert like that certainly shows a sense of "okayness" we wouldn't have under the circumstances! So I can see what you mean.

steamwings...that is so cool....I will never look at the thief the same again after reading your story. It will come into my mind during a reading and help me to do a better job of understanding what the cards are saying..

Great quest!

rosie-0801 I wish I was as prepared as the camel!

I can really tell that I need this kind of work right now. The words and concepts are simply flying from my fingers, springing into my mind with a speed which leaves me breathless ...

I chose the Woods Witch ...

A beautiful woman sits in the woods, hair blowing in tandem with the branches of a willow tree. Squirrel in her hands, gently communing with it. I'm reminded of the Blue Squirrel on facebook, discussing politics, although this card seems very far from political intrigue. Soft, gentle, wise. She is wearing a medieval top, her skirt looks like a part of the natural world. Green with leaves that mirror the willow. Flowers with her, and trees and light and shadow and wind. The squirrel trusts her completely. Safe, secure, sound. No worries. She protects him. Guardian of the forest. Kind hearted. She wants me to know that there is nothing to fear. I am on a true path, a natural path, a path that will lead to satisfaction, peace, security. A natural path for me. A whole path. A path to wholeness. A gentle, guided, rich path. Not rich in money, but rich in wisdom, strength, personal satisfaction and wholeness. A beautiful path. One that is heart and soul and vision. One that I've been headed towards all my life. One that I deserve. One that finally feels right, feels mine alone, feels true and beautiful. I wanted to create beauty. This woman wants me to know that my life IS beauty. I have a beautiful life. I will continue to have a beautiful life. The key is authenticity. The key is staying grounded. The key is staying vulnerable to those weaker than I. The key is to stay humble, proud, confident, soft, wise, creative. The key is to love. Love what I'm doing. Love those around me. Love life.

I feel thankful for this rich and beautiful witch. She teaches wholeness and comfort and sanity and the treasure of an authentic and creative life.

Thank you, DragonFae, I feel the same way about this deck. I've always liked the look of it, but I don't remember getting such an immediate and powerful message from it before. I'm loving it!!! Thanks for starting this group ... it feels very powerful, and I don't think it would have occurred to me to bring out the witches without the group activity.

I drew "Stone People" (Vigilance) from Earth Magic. I didn't get anywhere with a Vision Quest, but thought about for a day or so until settling on an interpretation, as advised by recent Tarot readings. The link to the artist's original isn't working, but a search will find an image.

The card shows steep sided rock pillars jutting up from a beach with more rocky outcrops in the distance, so the scene appears to be of some sort of inlet. The tide has gone out but there are numerous pools of water spread about. The sky contains a lot of cloud and rain looks likely. The Sun is low and it looks somewhat cold and damp. There are no people, just a single seagull on the beach in the foreground.

The feeling I get is that the card shows an apparently peaceful scene but is really warning of hidden danger. The tide is going to come back in at some point, and judging from the way the beach remains flat as far as can be seen, it will come in very quickly. The flat beach continues right the way up to the rocks at all points, with no raised areas supporting vegetation, so the sea will be breaking against the near vertical rock faces leaving no safe escape from the rising water. Hence "Vigilance".
