Venus Conjunct Mars Less than 1 degree
Hi guys. I don't really post here because I don't know too much about astrology. I've read things here and there about my chart but I'd really like an experts opinion about this. I have venus (leo) conjunct mars (leo) less than 1 degree in the 12th house (ouch.) Can anyone tell me about this? I have a leo stellium in the 12th house if that helps any. |

You will find all sorts of cook book answers to this but really there is no single answer at all. All of the cook book answers may be right at one time or another and one might be dominant most of the time but to begin to explore this for you we need the context of a chart. That can only answer questions such as: Whereabouts does the conjunction lie? What is the condition of Venus and Mars at this location? Which houses do Venus and Mars rule? Do any other planets aspect the conjunction? How does the conjunction feature in derived charts such as Solar Returns? And indeed more than this. Planets are not one dimensional, they have a variety of expressions. Depending on condition and location these two could mean anything from getting fun through physical activity to being aggressive when drunk. To help narrow it down to you specifically you need to post your natal details: Time Date - Day Month Year Place And we can take it from there.

That's too general and Natal Charts are personal. By asking such a question it won't mean anything to you. Venus is a beneficial Planet and Mars the opposite. The Planets behave differently when its in Signs, Houses, if the Chart is Night or Day. What you should do is ask questions regarding your life or the timing of events. Whats promised to you and whats not. By asking questions regarding the Planets and its placements you're only gonna get general answers. Not answers that are specific to the you. Mars can be the Almuten of Marriage in your chart but in another it could be the Almuten of Wealth. Therefore the Planet is different for everyone. We cannot generalize Planet placements because it won't be accurate nor would it be in-depth |

Thanks for the information ![]() Looking at the chart (attached) you actually have a triple conjunction of Jupiter,Venus, Mars and as Jupiter is less than three degrees from Mars, you cannot really separate out the other two as a 'stand alone' conjunction. This triple conjunction is itself conjunct the Ascendant, so it is going to be a very important feature both in your natal chart and in any derived chart (though in the latter, it will sometimes be not quite so important and other times extremely important). I take a traditional approach, so I'll try and explain how I see this triple conjunction making a difference. Traditional Astrologers used the word 'temperament' rather than personality and I'll keep to that to avoid putting a modern psychological gloss on my comments. Temperament depends on three things, the Ascendant (and planets in the first), the Moon and the Sun. Modern Astrology would also choose these three as the main features, but perhaps not in the order that I'm going to give. Your temperament can be measured in terms of four characteristics. Any one of these four can be dominant or you may find a combination of two or more that make you more 'even tempered'. The four are: Choleric - Active, Dominant, Driving/Leading, Impatient, Aggressive, Assertive, Optimistic Sanguine - Friendly, Social, Shallow, Unfocussed, Optimistic, Cheerful,Dilettante Melancholic - Anti-social, Analytical, Pessimistic, Studious, Reflective, Connoisseur Phlegmatic - Contemplative, Reserved, Shy, Resigned, Slow moving, Adaptive In modern terms you can thing of these as Fire, Air, Earth and Water respectively. Fire signs are Choleric, Air signs are Sanguine, Earth signs are Melancholic, Water signs are Phlegmatic Spring is Sanguine, Summer is Choleric, Autumn is Melancholic, Winter is Phlegmatic Moon first quarter is Sanguine, second quarter, Choleric, third quarter, Melancholic and last quarter Phlegmatic. Planets have their own nature too and where a planets natural temperament is used I've noted it below. Now let's look at your chart and see how they stack up: Ascendant Leo - Choleric Ruler - Sun (traditionally the Sun is taken according to season of birth - Spring = Sanguine Ruler's position by Sign - Gemini (Air signs are Sanguine) = Sanguine Planets in First: Jupiter = Sanguine Mars = Choleric Venus = Sanguine No other planets aspect the Ascendant Moon Libra - Sanguine Moon Phase - Second Quarter = Choleric Ruler - Venus in Leo by sign this is Choleric Sign of Planets in aspect to Moon - Sun by Trine from Gemini (Sanguine) Sun by Season Spring birth = Sanguine. All of these are either Sanguine (the large majority) or Choleric. The effect of the triple conjunction is to accentuate the Sanguine against the Choleric. Some Astrologers would include the Lord of the Geniture (the most powerful planet in terms of dignities) by Sign and/or by Nature. Even taking both would not shift dominance away from Sanguine. Jupiter, Venus and Mars are all angular with Jupiter only 6 minutes from the Ascendant. Jupiter has dignity in Leo by Triplicity (it's the night ruler of the Fire triplicity) It's also in it's own Decan. If I had to pick one Planet as Lord of your Geniture, I'd go with Jupiter, which is Sanguine by Nature and in a Choleric sign. All three planets in the Conjunction will also affect how you behave - your 'manners' (not to be confused with 'good' manners but the 'manner' of your behaviour. Jupiter is likely to be the strongest as it's closest to your Ascendant, followed by Venus and then Mars. Your generally likely to be Sanguine in nature and behaviour, well liked, very social, optimistic, etc. However you lack Melancholy and Phlegmatic, completely so you are not quite as well balanced as you appear to be on the surface. These three are also likely to be significant in terms of your overall health. Sun and Leo threaten Heart issues if you're not careful. I've also got Leo rising and I have blood pressure issues if I don't watch my lifestyle. Jupiter and Venus can lead to over indulgence in the good life - so watch your diet and alcohol intake. Mars can signify accidents or cuts or grazes or loss of blood. These shouldn't be a problem at your age (though I've not looked at any derived charts) but as you grow older they can become so without care. Your sixth House of ill health is ruled by Saturn, a natural significator of limits, restrictions and obstructions, so watch your health from at least middle age onwards as all of those in connection with the heart are not good. I'm not suggesting anything is invevitable, only that if you go with Jupiter and Venus, you run an increased risk of heart disease later in life. Moderating them should safely see you through. Remember your lack of Melacholy and Phlegmatic temperament, so learn to rest, relax, think, read. Also add some cold food, such as salads and drink plenty of water - again this is likely to be middle age onwards but it's worth getting into the habit early. I agree with much of what Roy said. Venus is actually quite active as Almuten (most dignified planet) for your various House cusps. The second (money and resources) Sixth (ill health), eighth (partner's income) and tenth (career) all have Venus either ruling outright (eighth and Tenth) or sharing in rulership (Second and sixth) So Venus is well worth considering in virtually everything you do. Venus is the natural planet of fun and enjoyment, through games, romance, aesthetic pleasure and gambling and drinking. Just remember Venus is not all good, even though it might seem so at the time. __________________ Minderwiz Wer meines Speeres Spittze furchtet durchschreite das Feuer nie!
