Greenie Thoth???
One of my things was featured in a treasury on Etsy, so when I went to look at the collection of goodies in it, I saw a listing for a Thoth at a reduced price for $99. Quote:
One of the reasons I'm asking is it looks just like my Thoth (only mine is missing the box & maybe extra Magus) so I can't decide if mine is a C or what and if this is a reasonable price... or is this person as clueless as me? __________________ If you can't be a good example - - then you will just have to be a horrible warning |

With the greenie Thoths one way of telling is to look at the colour of the ink because that is usually green too. I'll have to have a look at my greenie which is a white box C because I can't remember if it does have the extra Magus cards either. I'll go and have a look, also the dates on the LWB and post back. My deck has 1978 on the cards and 1978, 1983 in the LWB and I don't have the extra cards either. Maybe one of the Thothites will see this post and respond.

Dwtw No greenie deck has the extra Magus cards; these were added in the large and standard size 1986 editions printed by AGMuller in Switzerland. The 1996 AGM edition (printed in Belgium) also has the extra Magi, but only in the standard size. Litlluw RLG |

I have a greenie with a booklet that has the 1977, 1983 dates in it. It has a red on black hex card and only one Magus. I believe the seller is clueless to a certain extent. They claim it's from 1969, but further down they say the cards are still "slippery." I've handled both the white box A and B and I wouldn't call them slippery, but my greenie is very slippery. Also, the box in the picture is a C box, not an A or B. The seller said they researched the deck and that may be true, but they didn't do enough cause the ad's misleading. As a C, it's nowhere near worth $99. They're very common. If it really was an A or B it might be worth that. |

Thanks for all the help. Well, shucky darn, don't we all want to think we've got some unknown "antique" treasure. Guess I should ask the seller what dates are inside the cover of the LWB. But now I am sure I've got a White C... all I knew for sure was it was a greenie, it's got the black and red hex card too. __________________ If you can't be a good example - - then you will just have to be a horrible warning |
