Just received this beautiful deck

A girlfriend told me about this deck at a second hand store. so I went there and took a look, I fell in love with the artwork, I also really like the size of the cards and images. My dear friend purchased it for me "As a Gift" at a great price $4 cnd. I have watched all episodes of ancient aliens which discusses the "The Mahabarata Epic" a lot. which intrigued me to read more about. You can read this epic here and download the text as well http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/maha/index.htm

I am disappointed that there isn't a LWB that goes with this deck, I have read all posts in this thread and I will over time purchase the books that are mentioned here to help me with understanding the cards further.

Does anyone here still read/use this deck? How does it read?

It would be nice if someone here could start a study group here whom has experience/knowledge/use of this deck. share the wisdom pls. would be helpful not only for me but others as well thanks.

ETA: here is a link to a downloadable ebook PDF This matches the cards perfectly

Thanks

la Force, thanks for your post and taking the time to write all that up for us. I would love to get this deck, though it's not in the budget right now at it's full price....

I think it's beautiful and I am just fascinated by and love Indian art, culture, and spirituality. I'll be sure to let you know if I get it, it would be great to have someone to discuss it with.

your welcome everyone, I am too fascinated by the Indian art, culture, and spirituality. I was hooked the first time I saw the first few episodes of ancient aliens, after watching all seasons of that show I was hook line and sinker. Their temples and artwork in caves etc. blows my mind. It would be awesome to have someone to discuss this deck with, I am in the learning stages so it would be great to have someone with more knowledge of culture, spirituality, and mythology.

Lucky that you were able to get it at such a bargain price!!

There is an India Tarot deck as well, came out last year?? There is also a Sacred IndiaN Tarot - which isn't bad either. I don't think the former is available here in the Americas, it has to be ordered from India - or something like that. I'll see if I can find a link for you so you can see it.

The best way to get a look at some of these gorgeous cards is to google images of the deck -

I owned both this Gita deck and the Gods and Goddesses card deck and found the art to be very beautiful, too! However, neither deck really worked for me as oracles. They were great as meditation decks though! I found the Gita deck was a nice way to acquaint myself with the epic story but really for my yoga teacher training program I had to read the Bhagavad Gita to truly understand it in its entirety.

Thanks for posting the corresponding major arcana cards, La Force! I wish I still had the Gita now so that I could compare your connections up close. I ended up giving both away to my friend who lived in India for a year and she LOVED them.

Namaste'

Hi - I am the artist who painted the cards of this deck. The Sacred India Tarot is available in the USA, from bookshops, or to order, or on Amazon. Or you can ask the publishers - Yogi Impressions Books in Mumbai. Best visit the Sacred India Tarot website or facebook, for information. The author, Rohit Arya and I have been blogging the creative process of the work we did on all the cards - details on facebook, or via my link above - which illumines the deck. Very interesting bridge of vedanta with western traditions and archetypes. Best wishes, Jane
