Really newbi HI
So here I am, age 55, Integrative healer, (western and Reiki, QiGong) Just got my very first Tarot Cards in the mail yesterday, Universal Tarot, Lo Scarabeo, brand new in wrapper, and wanting to start. Glad to find this site for advice, have my first questions already. Not able to get on the site last night to ask how to clear them, read some stuff. So I tapped the cards to clear them, sent light energy there. Then put back in the box, slept over them last night. Did not sleep well, had a headache this morning. Decided not to carry them to exercise class. Came home, and after breakfast put them in my pocket and now have a headache again. Is this something that happens? What should I do? I do have a friend I am planning to learn Tarot from, but she is out of the country now. |

Sorry that you're having headaches, I can't say that has ever happened with me, I sleep with any new cards under my pillow also for around a week and shuffle them alot in the first week but I always pass them through incense first to clear them and the bag,box that I keep them in, gives them a nice smell too. They might have picked up some negative vibes through the manufacturing process and on their journey through the post and sounds like you are proberly more sensitive to energies that most. Maybe try passing them through some incense and see hows things are after that. Last edited by Tigerangel; 28-10-2012 at 06:11. |

Could be more literal....
I am wondering in a rather more left brained way than I am usually capable of, if you could have simply slept on part of the box which was causing pressure on a nerve which caused the headache? The coming back of it could be because you maybe did something at the gym to cause it..... I know I wake sometimes with the oddest pains after sleeping in odd ways or on books etc. |

Hi Karrma and welcome to AT ![]() I know people have different rituals when it comes to their tarot cards. Try handling the cards as much as possible (eg shuffling and touching the cards so you leave your energy/imprint on them) or you could try smudging them as Tigerangel suggested. Hope the headaches clear up soon

Welcome to Aeclectic Tarot Karma ![]() That thing about headaches sounds interesting.. You could try asking that in Talking Tarot where more people can see your question. Just an idea. |

Hi Karrma, Welcome to AT I hope you enjoy your time here, people are very friendly so jump right in.PS, I don't think your headaches are related to your tarot, I think it is just coincidence. |

Merci, its just me.
Well I just think it is me, I never can take the easier path. I have had some very intuitive, wonderful waking moments for the past week or so, and one was that it is the time to start Tarot. I did purchase the Universal Tarot, as that is what my friend who will be my teacher, recommends, and what the beginning books use. I saw another new Tarot deck when I was looking, called the Rosetta Tarot, and felt very drawn to them, thinking they may be my future, but not now. So the Rosetta Tarot came last evening, and just opened them to look. Slept on both, and very clearly, one of the cards in the Rosetta, changed from the universal, came to my mind, along with some other wonderful thoughts. So I am going to jump right in to the Toth based Rosetta Tarot, which means I need to learn more astrology, and my subconscious knew that. And I will be needing to use my guides and lots of questions. I'll be back here with more questions for sure. But there is Serendipity in this, as another friend who is taking the same class, still has not bought her Tarot cards, coming over today, and I will give her the Universal Tarots. (as far as the headache, when I woke up, thought it was just a bad day, but as a never headache type of person, getting the headache again when I picked up the cards was a sign to me.) |

Oh, Rosetta Tarot is really lovely. I have had it for quite some time already but not yet started to study in depth. I think there is a study group for Rosetta. Let´s see.. Yes, here it is: You can find it in our Tarot Study Groups and in the Index thread in there. Here is the link: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?p=3064320 That would be nice (Just a reminder for us all to please post questions in the appropriate subforum. This New Members subforum is meant just for short introductions and hellos. Thanks )

Welcome, Karma! It's great to hear that you are listening to your inner voice and following the wisdom you find there. I'm a bodyworker (thai massage and therapeutic) and Reiki practitioner too! I understand when you say you are waking up with headaches that may be connected to sleeping with the Universal tarot. It seems you are not connecting with the deck (headaches for me is a sign, if you're not one who ever gets headaches) and that's wonderful that you have a friend you can give it to! Perfect! Everyone is going to have a different opinion on where your headaches are coming from, so my advice to you, if you want it, is to keep doing what you already are doing, which is to go with what feels right for YOU. Best of luck on your journey!! See you around in the forums. ![]() Blessings. __________________ “Courage: the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.” ~ Maya Angelou |
