When your deck doesn't want to talk to you...

Does anyone had similar experience?

Here is my story: over a year ago, I did reading for a friend. It was her birthday, and I did some kind of yearly zodiac spread (similar to this http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread...&threadid=6112 ), I pulled one Major and one Minor card for each astrological house. She is single for a long time, and I was almost thrilled when I draw Magician and King of Pentacles for 7th position (partnerships, marriage). I was convinced that she will met someone and start some stable relationship. But, few days ago, she celebrated another birthday; in meantime, she met - no one. She didn't start any kind of relationship; for whole year, she did not have even a single date with someone so I wonder - there are so many cards in deck that can represent stagnation and literally "nothing". Why I draw cards which obviously represent some kind of action and man who is interested in stable, long-term relationship?

I understand that cards can "go crazy" when someone trying to get answer which (s)he wants to hear and doing multiple readings with same question. But in this particular case, I did just that one reading for her (not another with another spread and similar question). Furthermore, in some other fields, cards were "right" (for example, in 3th position - brothers, sisters, relatives, communication - I pulled Empress, and few months ago her sister got pregnant). It confuses me even more, because otherwise (if whole reading was totally "fake") I would think that I wasn't focused enough or something...

Does anyone have a clue what's the deal?

It's possible you interpreted the cards wrong. That's what I usually think of. Sometimes we can get so invested in wanting to see what the sitter is hoping for that it can color our reading even though we don't want it to.

Your heart was in the right place, but you interpreted this as men coming into her life or in her life; they could very well have been situations, conclusions, or something else besides a 'tall handsome stranger.' The Magician may have referred to her directly, and not a male.

A Zodiac spread with 24 cards to interpret is a lot of cards - almost a third of the deck.

I agree with both TarotBear and Grizabella. You want this person happy, so it could have been a misreading. I do it all the time with my own personal readings especially when it's about my relationship and the Tower pops up.

I would see the Mage as devoted thinking or study.
The King of Pent as comfort.

It could have read that she needed to center herself and be happy with how life is before the conquest of a new romance.

But hey, I'm new, I don't know that spread very well, and your reading made sense.

He was there, but she missed the signals.

The Magician was the advice card..."see his potential...and take action".

I'm just a beginner, but thats what I took from your reading.

I second this, my thoughts were the same.

I would personally try smudging or my favorite is putting them under your pillow for a few nights because then you and your deck will share the same vocabularly.

Another thing I like to do sometimes is start reading the deck with reversals (if you don't already do so). Some decks have a personality change after a while and if you start reading them with reversals they get more accurate.
