I think my cards are giving me answers that I want to hear

And not what I need to hear. Lately, I've been asking my cards various questions about school or relationships, and I've been getting VERY positive cards, in fact they are more positive than they were a few weeks ago. Maybe I'm just pessimistic and I feel terrible for not trusting my cards :'(.
But anyway, I wanted to see of my cards are just giving me what I wanted to here, I asked a peer if they can do the same question I asked with my cards, and my cards were really positive (Strength, 4 of wands, 10 of cups) and with the other deck I got (somewhat) negative (6 of swords, 10 of wands, The moon etc.)
I'm just really worried.
Does this happened to anyone? Does anyone have an explanation? Or should I just listen to my cards?

I believe the cards begin to reflect our thinking, especially if we ask a question repeatedly. Its the immediate surrounding energy that they begin to reflect. Give the first set of cards that you pulled time to manifest.

It could be, I have been having a bit of wishful thinking when it came to questions that has to due with relationships, but it's not like I've been asking the same questions over and over again, I would just that I would ask one question, with no intent of "hoping" for any specific cards, it would just give me these great cards. I also ready on the Biddy Tarot blog and she said that asking the same question with different cards will construct different answers with the same concept. Maybe that's what's going on?
But, there is a possibility that my energy has hindered my answers to my cards.
No wonder people say that I shouldn't read for myself.

Do you use reversals? If not, maybe you're interpreting cards that would normally be reversed as being upright in meaning when they're not. It might be of help to you to add some positional meanings to your spreads that allow for reversed meanings. Some people learn to use what's called "elemental dignities" to help with reading without using reversed cards.

I don't use reversals, but if they do come up on one of my readings, I know that it was pulled out for a reason. I never heard of elemental dignities, until just now. I think that it's a very interesting technique, that I'll be using.

My Rabbit Tarot is very enabling. They always promise a happy ending no matter what I'm contemplating.

I'm careful what I ask them. Don't we do that with all our friends though. We only ask certain questions to certain friends, and we filter the answer through what we know about THEIR personality.

People are not mirrors. Most of what they say is more about them, than about us, even when they are telling us about ourselves. Cards are like that too.

My liber T deck gives me different readings, but I bet it's because one card has a little dent on it.

My other deck, roots of asia tends to throw me consistent readings and the proof is on the results in the real world, try to make some readings as to how the next day is going to be and then compare the spread at the end of the day.

Oh yeah, what hunter said reminds me of lot's of collectors claiming some decks are more gentle than other more ruthless. IDK, I'd say it is so.

I was thinking the same thing, but I don't think my cards had a "optimistic, or bubbly" personality until recently. Maybe I should just trust my cards, my cards have never "sugar coated" things before, so why would it start now? Just to make sure, I cleansed my deck...just in case. I hope that works. I don't want to have to get new cards, I love these like a child.

I'm going to do that! I have been doing daily drawa, and the cards has seem to be accurate, for the most part. But I think that looking more into the daily draws ans see how they related to my wholw day can help me to see if my cards are just trying to be nice, or they're just telling me the truth.

I have had this problem fairly often now preferable dont ask too many questions on the same thing 2 often. The cards dont manipulate u, u manipulate them when u refuse to accept the answer in one or the other form unless u clarfy it with the other deck. Reading tarot for your self has these problems and preferably get someone else to read your cards.


Once i asked whether a certain person would be married on my Marseilles deck the 5 of pentacles was picked which was no sign of marriage anytime soon.

I was cheeky enough to ask the same question on my RWD and the answer was 3 of cups and then i was confused cause 3 of cups is good and 5 of pentacles is hell no. If i connect the 2 it could mean no way he is not marrying anytime soon but he might attend a celebration or 2 where he will connect with the one!!

What do you guys think? If someone else lifts your card and if its negative what should one do. Emma clean ur cards a bit keep them under moon light with incent this might work wonders. Then your feeling of manipulation might go. Ironically things might have improved or might be changing.
