Talking Hello I am new too!

Hello everyone,
I've just found this place to say "hello I'm new", I have been catching this fatal addiction by exposure to this site. I am brand new to the tarot and am just learning all the meanings.

I became interested in it mainly for the art work, but the "universe" led me to the tarot by some miraculous path which I can barely remember now.

I only remember I was trying to write an autobiography and was trying to write what the Baudelaire poem "correspondances" meant to me when I was discovering French Literature in College, which led me to Swedenborg on the internet (his theory of correspondences), which led me to the Kaballah (Doctrine of Correspondences), and to Crowley, then to the Book of Thoth, then to the Thoth Deck, then to this cool site, (and the Book of Thoth on line) (and to really fascinating and absurd conspiracy theories about Crowley).

Then I bought the Lupatelli Elves deck, (I returned the Ananda Deck, which seemed so empty of people) though the elves are still brand new in my hands, I can hear the Manara Erotic Deck, the Cassanova, the upcoming Decameron, the Spiral, the Fairy Oracle, the Old English, the upcoming Animal Lords and Flowers Decks, the Visconti, the Renaissance (Scarabeo), and Medieval Scapini decks all SCREAMING MY NAME REALLY REALLY LOUD AND BEGGING ME TO BUY THEM!!

I am working really hard to learn the Crowley Deck, but I am in Germany and the books available are all in Deutsch, except what I can get on line. My German is pretty good and getting better, this is a good motivation to learn more, but I am SALIVATING for my return to the States, when the occult stores in my native Berkeley California are going to assault my non-existance funds with cruel violence. (Grausamkeit = 10 of swords)

Meanwhile, I am enjoying thinking of correspondances from opera for all the cards, and in my future life I hope to find an Italian Illustrator to paint them all for me, and then get married and live happily ever in Italy, where everything I say will automatically appear in the bottom in English in little white letters.
Love
Paula

Hello firemaiden! I so understand what you're going through with decks screaming out at you and you're pocketbook laughing hysterically right back! The last thing that caught my eye was the recipe deck of the Rider-Waite tarot. They are huge cards with the RW deck pictures, but every card has its own recipe that corresponds with the theme of the card! It's great: art, intuition, spiritualism and a full tummy! This taurus can hardly resist!!!!!!
