Mercury-will be in retrograde to 26 deg sagitarius
Jupiter-will go retrograde in Virgo on January 3
Saturn-currently in retrograde in Cancer

January 3 is when Jupiter goes retrograde, which means right now (dec 25) it is beginning to reach its stationary point (18 vir). With the moon in Taurus, and mercury in Capricorn this effects all three Earth signs. Jupiters expansive abilites will be restricted during thsi time, but things will move foreward nonetheless, just not in a systematic Virgo way. This will be stressful for those who need such structure.

Saturn retrograding in Cancer effects family issues in all ways. It also opposes the mecury retrograde in Capricorn as well as the solar energies as long as they stay there. With only uranus entering piscies (and it is at Zero deg for the time being) and nothing in Scorpio except the passing moon or accendent related position all of this energy is being essentially drawn into the house of Cancer.

Saturn which rules Capricorn is released of its responsiblity during this retrograde. Not only is its energies reduced during its retrograde phase, but it has less power as it resides in its ruling signs oppostie.

Mercury itself retrogrades through the first part of capricorn and returns to Sagitarius. This is the first retrograde that has started in 2003 (it will end in 2004) that concludes in the preceding sign and element. It also will transit the opposing degree of Saturns last retrograde initial stationary period.

effects on Earth signs

Capricorns will be hit the hardest and the leaast at the same time. sound contradicting, well it is. Solar Capricorns get to deal with their ruling planet in retrograde opposing their hard-working sign. As mentioned before, Saturn's energies are weakend in Cancer and further weakened in retrograde. This basically means that this independent sign will have to rely on others for assistance at times where it may seem inconvienient. The sooner this is realized the better off Cap will be. Mercury retrograde will result in the realization of this fact as Saturn changes degrees in Cancer via subtraction. stress on the family is inevitable.

Taurus will be affected as its ruling planet Venus treks throgh aquarius. having already dealt with Capricorn energies, the sturdy bull will have not problem dealing with the general situation but the details that Saturn brings forth will be a pain the bovines rear. The Bull may be tempted to grze for a while before making any long-term decisons. Taurus's real challenge will be the Venus retrograde in Gemini later in the year, perhaps the bull is saving energy and resources for then out of instinct.

Virgos have expierenced abundance and possibilites in the most expansive of ways as Jupiter runs through the virgins glyph. However on January 3 this planet decides to go stationary and like its partner, Saturn, begin to subtract its degree. This will redirect where expansion, fortune, and natural abundance will go. Virgos of all forms (solar, rising, lunar, other planetary) will have to channel their energies into endevores that they may not have thought of before, or more likely, return to something (such as employment) or somewhere (family, hometown, friends). Mercury REtrograding in the fellow earth sign of Caprirorn will generate emphasis on career, employment, and anyform of systematic implementation. Once returned to Sagitarius, Virgos belief in how thigs actually are will be remolded as hwo things actually will have changed regarless if it is for better or for worse.

Gemini's ruling planet is retrograding right now. Unless the gemini has retrograde in their chart, this will be a difficult time for the twins and it will take the two of them to accomplish any one thing. Retrograding to Sagitarius will effect thier belif structure, their travel plans, and a variety of other sagitariun influences pretty much specific to ones individual chart. Saturn was in Gemini retrograde for 2002=2003 and went retrograde at 29deg gemini. Merc will retrograde to 26 deg sagitarius which opposes the Saturn retrograde point. It may feel like a delayed aftershock of the Saturn retro, or perhaps a recovery. depends on the charts. Venus retrograding in Gemini later in the year will force readjustment for all Geminis, regardless if they have venus in gemini or not.

Libra will not be feeling the expansive energies of Jupiter liek the vibe has been generating since the giant of the skies has retrograded in Virgo. This gives libras the preperation they need for when it does, although the libra ruling venus retrograde in Gemini will be a slap of karm in the face for the scales of justice. Thy shall be done is the theme it seems. Since MArs is in Aries, the moon opposing mars by being in Libra will be stressful for lunar libras as active energies seem to oppose them left, right, up, down, foreward, and behind. once again the venus retrograde will bring readjustment.

Aquarius. Venus is in Aquarius right now and is influencing its current neigbors, Neptune and Uruanus. In fact, Uranus felt so lonely in Pisces that it returned to Aquarius for the last few months of 2003. But now the rebellious planet that rules rebellious Aquarius has generated enough energy to go it alone in the sign of the two fish. Venus in Aquarius is forming a sense of idnentity within us that may not be the most agreeable with the world, but the "misfits" of the worls will love it because its their time to shine. Neptune in Aquarius creates a very powerful intutition within each of us as we prepare for another year of ups and downs. Aires will benifit from MArs in Aries but will have to redirect their energies espeically with others during the Gemini venus retrograde. Pluto remains in sagitarius affecting how the ram deals wtih philosophies and communication thereof. Merucyr retrograding to sagitarius will enhance this as the entire year is colored with the moon in Aries on Jan 1st.

Even after the ringed planet goes direct, the resulting energies will not be the most pleasent for the crab, a reevaluation of long-term goals, ideas, and methods of living are what is now needed for the Cancer to be truly happy. Scorpio is pretty clear of most problems until mars enters taurus. in fact scorpio is charged with mars in aries, but once it enters the sign of the bull, the methodilcal and sneaky ways that scorpio lives will be the fall of such people. Scorpio mus tlearn to be the eagle, and observe all, not just be the killer of the sand dunes. Jupiters retrograde in Virgo will effect how scorpio sees sex and family life, but should not influence the sign in any way that is mislieading.

Pisces must cope with their ruling planet in Aquraius. the problem for pisces here is the face that if they are trying ot make others see things thier way, it will fail. Pisces must understand that others will have their own opinions and ways of living, and if that is a problem for the fish then the fish must find new waters to live in. Uranus in Pisces will help the fish understand themselves, if not others. Indpeendece will be paramount for those born during Pisces. Venus is also in aquarius influence female receptive energies making it difficult for pisces to ignore others and their uniqness. once it enters pisces, the fish will be teh one to recieve the spiritual process in phases, but if the fish does not see it to begin with or unwilling to see it, then it will come all at once probably with a little more stress than needed.

This is unbelievably true for me.... I am a double Cancer and the pain is excruciating!!! I am essentially homeless!! My whole life has been turned upside down and dumped!! Right now, I am looking at alternative means of living.... it is soooooooo frustrating!!!

DeLani, Mercury goes direct on the 6 of jan in Sagitarius. You may find restrictions on what the job requires as well as restrictions in your home life in general. don't forget to be focused in your communication with others, mercury returning to Capricorn will be a strong indication of "the butting of heads."
