Tarot to find missing people

Chimera Dust

I've heard of people doing Tarot readings about missing people. If you search here on the forum, there's been a few threads about spreads that can be used or modified to fit a case like that.

However, I haven't heard of anyone here taking what they learnt from the cards to the police. I'd also take the results with a huge grain of salt, because I can only imagine that the answers would be very abstract and easy to interpret incorrectly, so the only way you could verify whether you'd interpret them correctly would be if the police solved the case. I'd only do it out of curiosity, frankly.

I checked out the missing/lost spreads on here and I think I'll just have to tailor them to the questions I want to ask and to this particular missing person's case. I can't seem to escape news about her disappearance so I feel compelled now to do a spread about it and hopefully get good answers.

I believe the tarot operate on another plane than the physical.
It cannot directly interject into this reality.
Asking for the specific position of X or the specific actions of Y is futile.

The tarot can like a mirror help you understand yourself and how you relate
to the world you live in.
Think of it as a soul mirror.
If you lay a spread about a missing person you don't get anything about them.
What you get is how the events about them impacted your soul.

We all have different ideas about what our soul is.
That is a question each of us have to answer ourself I believe.
The tarot offers us peaks at this quite marveluos and strange part of ourself.
Or at least that is what I believe. :cool3:

I think this can be done. Send Glass Owl a PM to make a spread on it, perhaps?

I agree with this, and also figure that if it could be done reliably, then there would be folks doing it with all the police forces, even if secretly, and things would get solved really fast. It doesn't mean there aren't people already doing so, but I think that anything like this should be rather discreet if done at all, to avoid getting up the hopes of family etc. who might grasp at any straws in a stressful situation like this. I hope the resolution is good for her and all involved.

I'd love to try this. I'd have to think of a system though...

And for the people who don't believe in it, it probably wont work for them. But I believe that it's possible. I wont discount it until I give it a try. Probably wouldn't be public about it though. People are so very touchy about these types of subjects and crime (psychic detectives, etc.) is an area where people try very hard to "disprove" any metaphysical techniques even when someone is found (victim, criminal, etc.)

Maybe I will keep a notebook and chart the accuracy. Perhaps not just location but circumstances. Like what happened to the missing student: ran away, foul play, kidnapped, medical condition, etc.

Check out this site for missing person tarot readings. I just found her site last night :). She even gives possible directions as to where the body may be found and really interprets the cards saying that a picture of a river on the card might mean the body is found in the river or on a street with river in the name. She goes into detail! I think I'll refer to her site for tarot readings on missing people.

This is also another site that uses the celtic cross to do readings for missing people, but it doesn't have interpretations specific to the cases, just the Rider-Waite deck interpretations. The good thing about this site though is that it lists missing person cases by state and has a ton of them from the 60's to now, but in no particular order. http://askthecards.info/cgi-bin/missing_persons/missing_person_tarot_reading.pl

I have done readings like this, many times. I have found that the cards will show what is up/the circumstances, albeit in an ambiguous way sometimes. But more often than not, the cards tell what has happened/and or the state of the person who is missing (ie s/he is in a body of water, weighted down etc,). I tend to be fascinated by crime shows or what South Park called "Instructive Murder Porn", and these readings do stem from some of the cases I am aware of through shows or news stories.

When the story is updated you then can go back and see how you read or misread the cards. You do need to keep notes though. Sometimes there is no update on the missing person. It can take years before any new info/clues come about.

Yeah I've looked at many tarot readings and astrology chart readings for missing people cases. I also go back to them after the person is found to see any discrepancies in the reading or chart. Usually what's indicated in the reading or chart is what happened in the case. For example, an astrology chart reading I read today on this missing college student stated something abotu a darker-colored large man with a shady character would be her kidnapper and sure enough the kidnapper is a dark (Black) man who is large in weight and size and has a shady character since he requested a lawyer and is refusing to speak about the case to police.
