21 Ways to read a Tarot Card, Step One

STEP ONE: Dugan's Witches' Tarot, VII The Chariot

A man is dressed in armor and a yellow cape covered with glyphs...he is located behind two horses (perhaps in a cart or chariot but one can't see it), holding his left arm up high and bearing some sort of long implement or weapon. His right hand is open and faces upward. The two horses in front of him are black and white, each is rearing up on its hind legs, and each is facing in a different direction. THe horseman, horses and the suggested chariot are all positioned atop a cloud in the starry heavens, and beneath a waning moon.

I just recently began working this book...I'm looking forward to the rest of the work and reading what others have done with all the steps.

Sun and moon tarot/ 6 of cups

This card is a nice blue. Not too dark or too light. The just above the center of the car Is a full moon. Smooth in appearance. Below the moon a couple spash in a body of water. The ocean I assume... The water is teal in color. The man has his right hand on the girls arm and holds a cup with water splashing out in his other. The girl holds a cup in her right hand and it appears she is splashing water in the mans face. The girl wears a one piece red swim suit and has long blonde hair. The boy blue swimming trunks and has dark black hair. with a white stripe both are barefoot although the feet can barely be seen amongst all the chaotic splashes around them. There are six hire Lilly pads flowing around them as are 4 other cups. All floating on their side. One near the girl and the other 3 behind the boy
The top of the card above the picture says pleasure. Just below that as part of the picture is a triangle with the point, pointing down and the words six of cups written below the picture. As the entire card is outlined in a white border

Step ONE: Shadowscapes, Strength

A willowy lady with red hair, upper body unbound, and with feet bare, has one hand atop a gigantic lion's mane and another hand opening the lower jaw of the lion. She is unafraid of the lion and the lion doesn't bite her. There is a swan on top of the lion's back, and a domestic looking Siamese cat holding a golden bell tethered to a red string crouched behind the lion and another Siamese cat next to the lion in front. The lion has his front paws atop a sphere that looks like there is red swirling energy inside. Above the lion, there are four birds in flight with three flocking together and one just a bit away. Two birds are sitting on top of a basin with incense rising to the sky, under the bridge where the lion, lady, and cats are. The basin sits atop a rock formation with an acorn image and two sprites are sitting on the rock, one on either side of the basin. There is also bamboo growing near the bridge and you can see the top by the cat with the bell.

21 Ways - Radiant Rider Waite, King of Pentacles

Radiant Rider Waite, King of Pentacles
The King sits on his Throne, looking calmly to his left. He holds a Pentacle and a sceptre. His throne has four ram heads on it, and his crown and gown are both covered with bunches of red grapes. He has steel armour on his left foot, and it is resting on another lion head? The sky behind him is yellow and there is a castle in the background.

Really excited about doing this :)

Touching base again

It was almost seven years ago that this exploration of Mary Greer's book and methods for reading cards was initiated by myself with the encouragement of others. After many thousands of replies and participations the study continues for many who are new to tarot as well as those who just want to expand their skills as well as to help others. I'm pleased that so many have found these threads to be helpful. Dave

21 Ways To Read A Tarot Card--Step One

Step One, Universal Waite, The King of Pentacles

A man sits on a throne, facing his left side, eyes closed. He is holding a scepter with his right hand and a pentacle with his left. His robe has bunches of grapes and foliage all over. His crown is yellow with red flowers on it and a green braid at the base. His left foot which has metal armor on it and rests on an animal's head peeks out from his robe. His throne is black with four ram heads on it. The sky is yellow and the ground around him is fertile with green foliage and some pink flowers to his bottom right. Behind him and to his left there is a castle in the distance.

Glad to be doing this with the Waite deck. Curious to see what's under the surface… :)

21 Ways -- Step One

Step ONE: Mystic Dreamer, 6 of Wands.

The 6 of Wands shows a knight in black armour mounted on a horse which also has armour on its face and neck. A raven is perched on the back of this horse and they stand beneath a full moon in a green meadow among misty mountains. The knight holds a solid ebony pole about seven feet long from which green leaves grow near the tip. A further five identical poles stand upright on the ground beside the horse but that carried by the knight holds a laurel wreath on its end. The knight's visor is closed.

This is the Mystic Dreamer 6 of Wands.
