I will be working with the Celtic Wisdom Tarot and focusing on dreamwork again this month.

Mi-Shell

Hi Merissa!
I am still "alive" as well - and working with the Roots of Asia Tarot.
I was drowning in work in August, but now, with the main season over, I should have some time- not just for daily draws but also for a few posts.

I do have and LOOOOVE the Celtic Wisdom Tarot.
I have a good book, that explains all the lore and legends that provide the scenes/ images for the deck.

The Wild Unknown

I am waiting for this deck to arrive from the States - hopefully it will be with me sometime this week or early next week. I really can't wait to get started.....

Hi Mi-Shell! Good to see you again. :)

I've enjoyed reading your ATF and blog posts about this deck and its connection to shamanism and Buddhism. Looking forward to reading more about it!

Which book helped you understand the Celtic Wisdom Tarot?

Right now, I am thrilled to explore the connection between the ogham and majors in this deck. I don't know the ogham system, but connect to some of the plants as spirits. Elder connects with Judgment and oak with The Chariot. I love both plants and enjoy learning about their Celtic meanings.

Welcome flipperjane!

I hope you get your deck soon! I love the Wild Unknown and am looking forward to spending a month with it in the future. It will be interesting to see what you think about it. Everyone seems to agree that it is a beautiful and well-made deck. I think it could really lend itself to journaling.

Sasmi

Dark Faerytale.

Hi. I'm planning on doing some serious work on my intuition with this deck this month. I love the deck and the imagery, but struggle to see the more tradional meanings in the scenes. Equally, I find the LWB totally OTT, and rarely relevant to the question I 've asked, so I need to find a happy medium(pardon the rather feeble pun!). Sam.

Welcome Sasmi! Sounds interesting.

I've started doing dreamwork with tarot as a way to jumpstart the process of learning. Some decks just don't have very good LWBs or books. And everything isn't RWS-based. I think trusting the imagery is a really great approach.

Here is some work I did for my in depth study of the Tarocci Celtici as my deck of the summer last year. This deck is based on the Ogham:

A little info about Ogham:

The Trees of the Ogham alphabet were divided into three classifications, which had nothing to do with their physical form. They merely represented their order of importance to the Druids:
Chieftains came first, followed by peasants and shrubs. Two symbols, the Grove and the Sea, are not actually Trees; their inclusion points out the Druidic acknowledgements of the power of both the sea itself and a group of Trees. The last five letters are called the Crane Bag and were given by the sea god Manannan.
