Templar Tarot Study Group: The Life Cards

Penthasilia

Moving on from birth/re-birth, the journey continues from the excitement of the beginning to the difficulties of actually living in it.

29: Affinity: the struggles of remaining in this time/place, with humanity, and the rewards that will come from that. But for now, it is important to remain grounded and attuned to the human race and the world in which we live- rather than "living" to leave or fare forth.

30: Sapience: being open to the wisdom and discernment that we can receive from humanity, including those once thought of as an enemy. Reminder that the word "sapience" contributes to the word "sapiens" as in homo sapiens, again alluding to a human focus.

31: Synthesis: a combination of ideas into a complex whole. A spiritual "A-HA" moment, where a new idea emerges that incorporates everything, even those things that were once opposed.

32: Jihad: struggle, in all its forms- against others who are non-believers and work against you as well as against yourself to ensure that you uphold your ideals and spirituality- one in which you will fight long and hard, but eventually will win.

33: Quietus: the humility we learn from understanding our own mortality and pending death.

34: Darkness Visible: that moment where we see our own destiny, a realization of our own personal orlog/wyrd.

35: Jinn: that crucial point in time where you become aware of your desires/addictions and shadow self. Unlike the Devil card, which is the archetype of this phenomenon- Jinn is more of a personal understanding, and now a personal choice- do you use it to bind yourself, or to lift yourself up?.
