The Court Cards and the I Ching

Barleywine

The Haindl Tarot has hexagrams on the face of the cards. It's supposed to be a Thoth clone but I never validated the alignment of the hexagrams between the two, and I stopped using the Haindl after a while because I found it a little too drab.

I just happened to have a Haindl lying about, so I checked.

The Haindl has hexagrams on the 2 through 10 of the suits, not on the courts, so they obviously don't line up with the Thoth.

I did a quick analysis, and it looks like the Haindl attributions are not regular. In other words, they are probably assigned by meaning, not by elemental or other organization. (I didn't look at the meanings, just the trigram distribution.)

BTW, another deck that has hexagrams (I think on ALL the cards) is the Awakening Aeon. I'm pretty sure they are also not regular, meanings based. I seem to remember that there was some overlap (which makes sense, since there are 78 cards and 64 hexagrams). I have since traded that one on.

Yes, the Haindl Tarot has hexagrams on the minor cards.
Their attributions seem unique to the deck.
